Nikon F roster

My sister just got back from the states with my special order:
a nice roster of Nikon F, including an early one.
All work minus a couple details; they need a checkup at least.
I can't stop getting more Fs, they are too cool.

Very nice. You just need to add a few more black bodies. Perhaps some eye level finders too. And at least one F36 Motor Drive. 🙂

Don't forget a waist-level finder....
and you need an early Photomic (periscope meter) finder, too.

I was addicted to OM-1's, had 6 at one time but now down to 2 and just 6 Zuikos. Most of just sat on the shelf.

I had an FTN Photomic in college during the early 1980's and loved it.
Though I haven't owned Nikons in years I recently bought another. 🙂

I fixed them all in about 8 hours of fun:

-Cleaned them with isopropyl alcohol
-Repaired 3 bodies for faulty 1s, 1/2s and 1/4s speeds.
-Repaired 3 lightmeters: dry solder, dirty resistor ring, bad battery contact
-Replaced all seals

One still smells heavy mold, althought no mold can be seen. I guess it was the never-ready case...
I left it outside today, it improved but the smell is still strong😱

Put it in a bag with an open box of baking soda.

I also prefer the older, all-metal, no-frills Nikons. I have FE2 (x2), FA with MD-15, and F3. I'm thinking of picking up a second FA.
