Come to the Faire
Well I just turned on my Nikon F3 and the on/off switch broke. The ring broke in two and half the ring fell out of the camera entirely.
What are my options for getting this switch replaced? Where should I send it? Is this an expensive fix?
Thanks all.

I just had my F3 serviced at Authorized Photo Service in Morton Grove IL. Joe told me that they really don't have parts for the F3 any more, especially circuit boards. Nikon also stopped selling parts to third party repairers.
This is odd, as they APS still had parts for a Nikon F finder when my eyepiece elements decemented.
Unfortunately, the F3 seems to be a doomed orphan.
Your best bet is to call Nikon USA and see if they may have the part. If they do have what you need, Nikon is probably your only repair source.

Simply leave the switch in the on position. There are no negative consequences to this.

Thud,
The part I actually needed was a replacement panel for the LCD meter readout panel. Would you know what the part number is, and would Mike's have it?

I just googled for F3 parts list and several exploded diagrams popped up and found the part # and several parts guys showed up.
