Dear All,
My Nikon F4 recently had developed a strange fault. When trying to load film, upon first shot the film advances to the first frame and then the red led comes on. After waiting for a while pressing the shutter button again it moves the film as if trying to load it and then halts with a red led again. The batteries are fresh.
Do you know why this has happened all of a sudden? Is it something that can be repaired by me? If not, is it worth repairing it, or buying another body?
Many thanks in advance for your advice.

Shooter of Film...
If for some reason the roll doesn't load correctly it will do this...
open the back and check...
If it has caught the film leader and is being loaded the counter will advance...if not it will not move off the -2...
If it's truly catching the film but still giving an error light I have no idea why this is happening...

It has started doing this all of a sudden. No matter how I load now the film it goes to frame number one and halts.

Yes, it is DX coded and the dial is set to DX. I have even tried to manually setting the asa speed, but it does the same. I have tried anything I could think of, even a fresh set of batteries just in case.
