Has anyone used a Nikon F to Leica M adapter to attach a fisheye? I see no reason to attach any of my other Nikon lenses, but considering a fisheye can be really easily to scale focus and you can pretty much shoot blind with it and get a somewhat interesting image I was wondering if it was worth buying an adapter?

I am shooting with M8 and Nik_leica adapter attached Nikkor 21mm 2,8 manual lens, works beautifully so why not with the fish eye. A "real point and shoot" setup, for sure... with nikkor, at F: 4 and focus in 4 metres: everything in focus..

Too many cameras....
I've used a Zenit MC-Zenitar MC-N which is an f2.8 16mm 'fish eye' lens in Nikon mount (bought off the Lomography UK web site) on Leica M digital cameras in conjunction with a Nikon to Leica adaptor. The combination seems to work quite well - need to do some more experimenting to get the best out of it.

That's the same fisheye that I have. I bought it years ago when the D70 came out and full-frame lenses hit bargain basement prices. I think I paid like $89 for it brand new.
Do you have any examples?

Jeez. Now you're making me want to buy a circular fisheye!

That stuff is amazing! When I was a guit-picker in the late '60s, our band had some publicity shots done by the great Shelly Katz of Black Star, and he shot some stuff of us with a Nikkor fisheye. I saw the proofs, but never got a copy. Made me a Nikon freak FOREVER!

I've seen them go for under $2K pretty regularly. I saw one recently for $700. The image qaulity is better in a $200 Samyang plus it's a manageable size.
I went ahead and ordered an F->M adapter at $32 shipped I couldn't pass it up. I'll see how it works with the Zenitar first then maybe I'll pick up a circular one if I come across some extra dough. I'll post up some stuff next week if I'm not too busy playing with my Nikon Dƒ.

In response to rivercityrocker's request for samples produced by the Zenitar set-up I'll sort something out for the week-end or early next week as I'm going to be busy on some work duties for the next few days.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. I placed an order for an adapter last week and this morning I got an email from PayPal saying that my money was refunded. No explanation. This is the second time I ordered from rainbow imaging and they screwed up. I won't be ordering from the, again.
I just placed an order with Fotodiox, hopefully I'll get the adapter someday...

I had a nikon 8mm f2.8 that I bought for a couple of annual reports. It's exceptionally sharp but it's easy to overuse. I kept it for a few years and sd it. A few shots is enough I found. I got a good deal on a nice nikon 8mm f8 after I sold the f2.8. Used it a while and sold it. I never tried it on digital though.
Several years ago I had a rare opportunity to use the 220 degree 6mm f2.8. Amazing and about the size of a bowling ball but in half and about the same weight. My client owned three of them.

I finally got my adapter and had a chance to walk around with the fisheye for awhile today. It's basically shooting blind. It's pretty fun. Zone focusing is a breeze with this thing. Framing is hit or miss obviously. If you end up with a good composition is mostly down to luck. I got some decent stuff I think.

It should work on the M9, isn't that a FF digital. I've used my Zenitar on my APS digital and it is fine. Here a homage to Al Kaplan (Zenitar plus APS):
