Nikon F's are like peanuts

Black F w plain prism
Black F2 w plain prism
Black F2 w DP1
Chrome F2 w DP1
4 F3's
F4

And a bunch of Nikkormats.

I got my chrome F earlier this year at a garage sale...traded a Minolta lens (given to me) for a plain prism...mounted the Nikkor-S.C. 50mm 1.4 lens (also given to me) bought an "J" screen and made a wriststrap...all for less than $30...
I also found a black FTn Prism (that works) for peanuts and if I don't get rid of it I may also own a black "F"...
I truly don't see you (Vickko) having a problem...
I am missing an F3...now, I might have to start a 12 Step program when I get one of those...because I would have to admit that I do have a problem...oh, well...

Crap Frank...4 F3's...??? Really...???

I've got nine F's and one F2. I like the F's much better. What can I say, they were my first love. I mostly use an M6 but it's still fun to get an F out now and then. And the lenses. Fun. I can't believe I have more of something than Tom A.!!! Joe

I only have the one F, black Apollo with Ftn finder and relatively scarce motor plate. It's my favourite m/f slr and I recently had it serviced by Sover Wong. There's just something about them I suppose.

Bob,

If you find a mint standard finder for that black F you'll have to post a picture. Love that combo.

I can certainly relate to this thread. Vick: black Red Dot F's are fairly rare, and a double boxed one? You must have that. Well, one of us must have that.

I just scored my earliest F, a 640xxxx with correct N-K prism, that was advertised as a student camera. That one was an easy one to add to the collection. Now have: two chrome with standad prism, one chrome red dot with Ftn finder, and one black with Ftn (looking for a black standard prism for it) and some accessories and a lot of lenses.

Robert: let's talk pens. Finally got a Nakaya.

Just one absolutely pristine, black F2as and a chrome Nikkormat Ftn. AiS Lenses from 20 to 200.

1000 cameras is nothing. You can ask one of the early posters in this thread, he's seen a big bag of them and shot with some of my lenses.

Now if you want to talk real sickness, let's go on to the subject of military watches and/or gold antique bubble back Rolexes. Now we're getting into strait jacket territory.

I have two Nikkormat FT2s and a third should be on the way soon. That should keep me going for a while. I'll have four lenses to fit, ranging from 50 to 55mm! I like the shutter speed around the lensmount. I use OM-1s also. It keeps my head messed up with the directions reversed from one system to the other.

There is a black F body, with a red dot serial number, in a camera store in town here.

And it has both external boxes, with matching serial number on the brown outer box.

I'm not sure that it is overpriced, but, I've seen it three times at the store now.

Tried to bargain it down to "my price" but the store isn't agreeing yet.

I tell you, it is a vicious addiction.

Vick

isn't everything in that store overpriced? (unless it's not the one I'm thinking of...)

Robert: let's talk pens. Finally got a Nakaya.

Oh no two vices in one thread...:D

F very used (black with chrome (black painted standard prism))with motor drive and battery pack (from the photographers family of the Green Bay Packers).
F black with standard prism (NM)
2 F2 black (one mint and one nicely brassed)

Nakaya Writer (Aka tamenuri)

Ciao

Joe, I forgot the two F2's - but you still win the F-race (though there is swap meet coming up this Sunday - so who knows!).

Are they Mine

Are they Mine

I've got three, 2 Chrome with Prism and one Chrome with FTN finder - a '66, a '67 and a 1971.

I was not aware the M mount 15mm CV takes 52mm filter.....now I've got that lens covered in just about every color filter Nikon made for 52mm.

...looks like I've got to keep an eye out for a black Nikon F with plain prism - the family won't be complete without one.

I got 2 Fs stolen here in Sacramento in 1987 Ftn/ Photomic Tn 1 prisim and 5 lenses
