Now you all got me curious....
How well does the S3 2000 finder work with glasses? Can I expect to see the 35mm framelines easily?
How bright is the it compared to a Leica finder?
Is there any adapter to make an LTM lens fit the Nikon keeping RF coupling?

I wear glasses & the S3 2000 VF works fine for me, though there isn't much room around the 35mm framelines.
The VF is a bit brighter than a modern M (M4 & later) or significantly brighter than the early Ms (M3 & M2), which were tinted. The RF patch is not as well-defined as that on a Leica M, though. It reminds me of the finder in a Canon P.
I'm not aware of any adapter to make an LTM lens fit on a Nikon RF or Contax RF, & 1 is unlikely because they are deeper than any LTM camera, so you wouldn't be able to focus @ infinity anyway.

Welcome aboard, Harry.
Did you know that the Nikon F3P can trace its titanium foil shutter lineage back to the Nikon SP!
You need one. And they both end in "P"!
The S3-2000 finder is quite bright and easy to use. The 35mm lines are "Close to the Edge" with glasses, but usable. The 1x finder is terrific.
The 50mm f1.4 lens on the S3-2000 is the sharpest F1.4 Nikkor ever made. That is a great reason to get the camera.
Migtex, Nice "S". That combination really makes sense, with the external finder for the 21 on an S. You will love the S2 with its 1x finder.

Charlie? Dat you?
Nope, no Nikon RF yet - the budget doesn't allow. I am considering selling off my 'Blad to finance an S3-2000, but I'm having a hard time making that decision now that digital backs are starting to drop in price...

Not only that, but you managed to 9 years back, and find the thread to resurrect! Well done!
So, I must say that the S3 2000 (and the SP 2005) sets were my dream kits (just one of them - probably the SP for the 35). In the end I settled for an M6 with a 35 summilux...
But one day ... (Now I have 9 years to save up

Lol, who knows?
The S3 2000 is an unused silver one coming from Japan, I'm really looking forward to wringing it out with the 50 Millenium and the other lenses I just picked up - 35/2.5, 105/2.5 and 135/3.5.
I'd still like a black S3 2000, but I can wait until the right one comes along - now that I have the 50/1.4 I can watch for a user body only deal.
