If the Nikon S2 rangefinder appears to be off vertically, can this be adjusted by me or will it need to be sent in for repairs?

This is fantastic, F2.. i hope i never have to perform this operation on my S2, but it's good to know that very clear details of the procedure are out there if i need them. Much appreciated!

If I may ask a newbie question..... How does one know if the camera is in need of this adjustment? I suppose its a case of "I'll know it when I see it" but I'm assuming that if the rangefinder patch looks to be in alignment (vertically) with the VF its all in proper alignment.
