Nikon S3 2000 set has arrived

Now I can see them all, either in this thread or at smugmug. Actually I use Firefox with AdblockPlus embedded in it, and for some reason ABP had blocked ads including smugmug images at some time in the past, hence the empty posts of yours. Now solved, thanks !

Beautiful kit Raid, you will be very happy with it. Congrats. Christmas is in March in Florida.

I am glad that in the end it worked for you too.
Yes, it feels like Christams indeed.

The S3 is my favorite Nikon Rf. I know that many extol the virtue of the SP - but I prefer the S3 - even for 35mm. Rangefinders are not an exact science and as long as you get a smidgen more than you need - you can crop. My black Millennium is also the smoothest of any of my rangefinders in 35 mm. The chrome one is slightly louder - about well worn in M2 level.
The 50f1.4 Millennium rivals the Summilux 50f1,4 Asph - except for the close focus.
Have fun and enjoy the "kit".

Hi Tom,
I also bought an adapter for Nikon to Leica M.
I am glad that I bought th S3.
The S3 is my first Nikon RF camera.

Yesterday, my Nikon S3 2000 set arrived. It s a beauty. Now I understand why some people collect cameras. The S3 looks like a piece of art. It seems to be like new, with the boxes. It includes the Millenium Nikkor 50/1.4 with matching lens hood and case. When my wife saw the camera, all she said was "beautiful".

I will not keep the camera and lens locked up. I want to use the lens, and since the S3 came with it, I will use the camera too. I have to admit that I am thinking of keeping the lens and selling the rest, but not now. I got an Amedeo adapter Nikon to Leica M, so I could use the lens on other cameras.

The VF is very bright. Focusing is a snap. I can't imagine to have the original S3 be even better, but some people here claim it to be true.

Oh well. I tried to stay away from owning a Nikon RF camera for many years, but I failed.

Congratulations, my friend, I remember opening the new box after Jonmanjiro shipped it to me. The camera looked like jewelry from Tiffanys.

I really enjoyed that camera and lens but had to sell it in 2008 when I saw my job coming to an end. Little did I know it would be the last job I would ever have so selling the kit was the right thing to do. I miss it even though I had a terrible time with focus...missing more than I got. But the one's I got were terrific! Musta been my eyes.

Anyway, nice. Very nice. Keep the kit as it will only go up in value.:)

Way to go! I still remember seeing Nikon RFs in camera shops. Beautiful! I hope you enjoy the S3 for many years!

The Nikon RF's have a masculine handsome look, while the Leica M's (except the 5) have a more feminine look.
