Hi all,

Is there a rubber eyecup from a later Nikon camera's that
would fit my S3. It doesn't even have to be a eyecup it could
be just one of those rubber bumper types like a DK10 that's
square and goes around.

I don't know if anything existing for another camera would work, but you could probably custom-make something yourself by cutting out a piece from a bicycle tire inner tube patch and then silicone it to the S3's eyepiece.
Similarly, a suitably-sized rubber gasket from Home Depot would also work.
Or if you want to really go bare bones, just apply a bead of silicone sealer directly to the perimeter surface of the plastic eyepiece.

O-rings? or a real light-excluder?

If all you need to do is save your specs, check out O-rings in various sizes. Hardware/home improvement places have them. Go large, and just snap them "around", otherwise you'll be gluing them on. If you need to have a little dark zone for your eye, then a cup is what you need. Some of the Nikon-brand or generic-market eyecups are snap-fitted onto a threaded ring and can be, maybe, shifted over to something else. --alfredian

O-rings work well on many eyepieces, but not on the Nikon s2 or s3.

On the Nikon S2, a flat black rubber gasket will work perfect, because the camera eyepiece is round. Three dabs of removable neoprene glue will do it. On mine I'm using a rubber gasket I didn't even have to go and buy, because I once found it by chance on the pavement...

The Nikon S3 eyepiece is rectangular, so you have to make something customized youself.
