Has anybody had any experience with Nippon Photo Clinic in New York for repairing vintage point and shoot 35mm cameras? Thanks!

Can't speak to that directly regarding point and shoot cameras, but I did have them repair the electronics on a Contax 645 and do a CLA on a couple of Contax lenses last year (they seem to be the place which is handling Contax repairs now that Kyocera support has ended, and they do have parts).
All I can say is that, in my case, they were professional and thorough. Not sure I'd say inexpensive, but I can't complain.
I think if you send them an email describing what you want they might be able to give you a ballpark estimate for routine servicing. They were good about communicating with me.

Many thanks, that's helpful! I have a Yashica T4 whose lens does not extend properly. They said they can try and do something, although they can't guarantee on spare parts availability, if needed. I just wanted some feedback before sending.

I think the bit about parts availability is just their standard reply to make sure the customer understands. It is my feeling the have access to a lot of parts; they've never had problems locating parts for anything I've sent, and the T4 is fairly common, so I'd hope you would be in good shape.

When I was assisting and shooting in NYC, Nippon Photo Clinic was where basically all the pros I worked with sent their gear when it needed to be looked at, from pocket cameras to large format stuff. They have handled many repairs for me over the years, from the straightforward to the downright weird. They've always been thorough and professional, and they've never let me down. Highly recommended shop.

Nothing but good things to say about them - they've done a good job with my Contax G2's and I had a friend with a T2 who got some electronics overhauled. Not exactly cheap but pretty thorough.

Make sure you get an estimate before you give the green light -- I've had some simple jobs there turn out to be more expensive than the item was worth...

I just wanted to give feedback to all those interested. The camera came back well repaired, but as some said, it was quite expensive (USD 120 of labor only, no spare parts were used). Shipping was also quite expensive (USD 26 from NYC to NYC). In any case, very punctual, very well done and packed, so one doesn't mind too much.

Thanks for the update.

As my guess is that it's not something they may have done before my gut says it's not out of line for a good shop (and sounds legit, though not too legit....).

Please share some shots when you get them souped and printed/scanned.
