A wonderful book on the topic by the way, as suggested to me by other RFF's,

Stage and Theater Photography by Jeff Lowenthal.

It is well out of print, published by Amphoto. Mine has a copyright of 1965.
 
I'm quite proud of this as it was done on an old P&S digital. Shame the bottom of her legs got cropped though.
