No need to buy a Brikk

Fugly page out of Leica's and Rollei's playbook

More like the lomography playbook in this sad case.

In their defense, Gold edition cameras have been a Nikon tradition for a while, but celebrating a one-year anniversary seems like a poorly disguised excuse to move some units and give the new tools some purpose.

That's rubbish! Who's going to see my sexy, sexy gold from across a crowded bar? Nikon's feeble attempt is almost tasteful.

Brikk or nothing, baby.

according to the link, limited to 1600 pieces. 600 body only, 1000 with the special edition lens.

still not interested though.

If Nikon wanted to revitalize the DF sales maybe a special discount could have given some results...

I also feel the price point on the Df is way too high. I would have liked to own one (normal livery) if it had been more in line with good price value.

This is going over my head. OK, I can see it's a boutique version of the Df, which is in itself a boutique item. Boutique to the second power. But what does "brikk" mean?

I think the Brikk is ugly, but I like the way Nikon did the gold trim. If I had unlimited funds, I'd buy one and put it on a shelf in my office. I think it's pretty to look at.

Best,
-Tim

PS: And it's definitely a JPS.
