Having just come off a short affair with a Nikon D600, I was hoping that sensor dust on the XP1 would be less of an issue.

I bought mine slightly used. I immediately tested it for dust and found very little. After several lens changes and a couple hundred shots I tested again. Very clean. This makes me happy.

Has this been your experience with the X-Pro1, too?

I have the XE-1. I had one spec on the sensor. Changed lenses on a windy day. Turned it on and off... gone.

Mine has been perfect also although, It's pretty much only had the 35mm so... few chances for dust to enter. Taking it and tge x100 as my two cameras today on a trip to Switzerland. The first time in years to travel without a rolleiflex and 5D my usual travel companions.

I keep 'popping in' to the various X-Pro1 threads, reading up generally and checking our reviews and so on.

With each new sentence I read the lure gets stronger. Simply a case of do I wait for the X Pro 2?

I don't think I'll need a ver. 2, Simon, unless they make some radical and extremely useful changes to ver. 1. Fuji is really good about updating and improving the firmware for existing models. Just the piece-of-mind of having a clean sensor really contrasts with my D600 experience (although it was otherwise exceptional).

They're pretty outstanding for a manufacturer aren't they Dick - even from the reviews and posts I've read its clear the AF has gone from so-so to perfectly acceptable (I'm being conservative here as I've not spent much time using one yet so can't comment personally.)

If I were to wait for the X Pro 2 (or updated X Pro 1) it would most likely be to enable me to buy a X Pro 1 slightly cheaper. But we'll see :)

One would hope they follow their original x100 to xp1 release plan....
- x100 showed us what things were going to come
- xp1 gave us pretty much everything that was in the x100 plus a better sensor.
Given the x100s has given
- a sensor w/ pdaf and the 16mp of xp1
- faster af
- split image focus
- focus peaking
- faster CPU/digital decode path
- better evf (if I remover correctly.. Not sure on this one)
Lets hope that we at least get this plus a better sensor. I am hoping for 24 mp sensor

The projection is end of this year to beginning of next year for the announcement.

Anyway to your original question. Not seen any dust yet.
