I had my Noblex 135 ProSport CLA'd a year ago (including new rollers) by Bob at Precision Camera Works. Shot maybe 5 -10 rolls through it since. It was stored in a dry box w the batteries removed.
I had a project in mind for it, but when I put fresh batteries in it yesterday, it would not turn on. The film counter LCD activated and advanced when I turned the film knob, but no power on led, no actual exposure.

Sent an email to Bob, but while I'm waiting for a reply any ideas? Bit of a bummer as it was hardly used, then stored safely.

Camera's battery contacts possibly oxidized? Try cleaning with a pencil eraser, just on the off-chance...

Thanks for the reminder Doug. I tried that but it did not make a difference. (also used some isopropyl alcohol)

That's what it was. I got the camera back from Bob (free courtesy repair) and he said he just cleaned the contacts. Now, I tried to clean them using the pencil eraser, then alcohol, but it did not work for me.
After he cleaned them, they are a mirror like finish.

Bob Watkins at Precision Camera Works - great service, thank you so much!

Well, I enjoy being right... but that is a puzzler why the eraser didn't do the trick for you. Glad you got it going now. :)

Thanks Doug. Yeah they look like they've received a real polishing, something beyond the capabilities of a pencil eraser!
