Nokton 35mm 1.4SC or 35mm f/2.5 Color Skopar PII

I've used both. My opinion = The 1.4 SC has more flare and distortion, but has a nice "special" look to it at times (and can have have focus shift). The 2.5 is a very good general purpose lens that performs well in all aspects, but doesn't have anything "special" about it... except the price. If I were to do it again, I'd go for the 1.4.

The Pancake is nice. It’s small. Well, not small, it’s tiny. It’s sharp. It does, what it’s supposed to. It’s got a short focus way, I like that, as with 2,5 and 35mm you never need to focus that accurate. So you’re fast. Not to forget, it’s cheap and I’m a pupil, I’m young, don’t have much money. Only problem is, that sometimes it’s just not fast enough.

Zeiss Ikom. I think I'm going to get the Nokton 35mm SC. I 've been wanting it for a while and I know for what I shoot that the 1.4 is going to come in handy.

I shot the Nokton 40 on my ZI for a couple of months using the 35mm framelines. It definitely captures slightly less than the frame indicates, especially up close. That matches what I've heard about the lens really being a 42-43mm. I've heard that the 40 rokkor/cron fits those framelines really well, though.
