I just got the lens and an R3A, which has the 40mm framelines. On the R2, you'll either have to use the 50mm frameline and expect some overflow or the 35mm frameline and keep a hair inside the frameline.
As a one body/one lens combo, I don't think it gets much better!
It's a bit smooth and "glowy" at 1.4 but i don't mind that. It's small, light and fast. And it takes 43mm filters which I happened to have from some Zeiss lenses I sold.
I used it when I first purchased my R2. Nice and compact. I used the 50 frame lines which seemed to work well. I sold cause I had a hard time with the ergonomics of the focus tab. If I didn't purchase a 35 color skopar and a 50mm, I'd get one again, especially if I wanted just one lens. Nice sharp images.
Thanks for your opinions and experiences - I guess I'll take it.
The seller is offering it for about 320€, which seems reasonable to me as it is in a perfect condition.
I still use the 40 Nokton on an R2, selecting the 35 frameline. Since I wear glasses, it works very well [the additional distance from the eyepiece seems to give an almost exact frame for the 40].
