Nokton 50/1.5 mounted to Nikon N80

I got wedding coverage coming up in mid-June, and I'll be using my R2a for some shots, am also thinking - if possible - of mounting the Nokton to a Nikon N80, am not experienced in mounting typical rf lenses to slrs. If mounting is possible, please advise on proper adaptor, sharing your experiences with applying Nokton to slr is also welcome.

I do remember seeing a thing before that was a nikon to LTM mount adapter. Rangefinder lenses on SLR cameras will only let you focus up close, for instance I stuck a Argus cintar on my canon 20D and it will focus down to about 10 centimeters but on the other hand only focus out to about 3 meters, and that because I lopped part of the lens off. Frankly you would be better off with a 50 1.8 or 1.4 nikon lens.
 
Yeah, it is true. Your SLR is 'thicker' from film plane to lensmount plane than RF lenses by something roughly like 15mm, so even if you could attach the lens you'd get the same as a 15mm close up ring.
A Nikon lens shouldn't set you back very far, are common, and they are notoriously among the best ever.
Or just use the rangefinder.
 
You'll need a lens with built in CPU (basically that's the AF lenses and the 45mm/2.8P) to get the lightmeter of the N80 to work. Otherwise, you'll need a separate lightmeter..
 
oh, that right, the n80 was not make to be backwards compatible for older nikon lenses....I remember reading that somewhere...thank you very much mr nikon
 
I have a Novoflex adapter that goes the other way -- and will fit a Nikon lens on an M body and that adapter alone cost more than a Nikkor AFD 50/1.8, in fact it cost about 2x as much!
 
Great info, much appreciated. I'll just use Tamron 28-75/2.8 with the N80 and the Nokton with the Bessa. Well, I thought there was a possibility of adapting the Nokton to the N80, but, well, it's not the end of the world if there is no compatibility. Nikon lens on M body - that is interesting, Joe. But I won't try it. Bessa with CV lenses (can't afford Leica!). I do, by the way, accept Leica donations :) Oh, and Rolleiflex 2.8 donations, too! Have a great day.
