UK Region North of England meet-anyone?

Not long to go now guys. Still not too late for anyone to join us.
Further to my RD1 and lenses mentioned above I've decided to bring along my Pentax Espio Mini loaded with the new Ektar 100.

Morning folks,

Great day yesterday - nice to see you all. I shot 7 rolls of film - the 4 B&W ones will probably go in the soup shortly (though it's a lovey sunny day here, so I might head across to the Wirral somewhere to do some more shooting instead). The colour trannies will have to wait until I have enough to justify a batch of chemicals, which will probably be a couple of months. Looks like it'll be tomorrow at the earliest before I get any scanned to show you.

But Bob's clearly going to be amongst the first to show us some shots - though it's not for me to say why ;)

Journey home was interesting. After finding there were no trains from Victoria to Liverpool (only the bus), I hoofed it to Piccadilly and caught a train just a few minutes after arrival. It was packed with Tranmere Rovers fans (they were the not-so-quiet people in blue and white shirts we'd been observing during the day), with a handful of transport police thrown in for good measure. But they were in good spirits (despite Tranmere apparently having surrendered a half time lead to draw 1-1 with Scunthorpe), and it was an entertaining journey.

I'll be up for more meets later in the year (August onwards for me), and look forward to seeing the regulars again (and hopefully meet Kully one of these days - that 40/2 S-C has become one of my favourite lenses).

Cheers,
Alan

He he, more of that later, but suffice to say I've lived to tell the tale. :D

In the meantime, I'd like to hear from Dave W - where are you Dave?
I've been bit worried since we didn;t see you yesterday. Post up and let us know you're okay.

Good day all round guys. Weather stayed fine. Plenty of subjects to shoot. Good beer, good food, though some of us couldn't resist GAS. You know who you are!

Ha ha, I think it's what you call acute GAS, though fortunately for me not terminal GAS. ;)

Good shots there Paul. I love the results the 15mm gives, I hope people realise tyou were risking arrest by taking a picture of the floor (that you're allowed to take photographs from) from the balcony (which you're not). Ironically you can take picture of the floor or the balcony as long as you're at ground level.
*stops for breath*
Those terrorists don't stand a chance!

Good pic of the old dear. I took a grab-shot of her right before my film advance went haywire and lost me the roll.

Anyway I've uploaded the decent M8 (Oops! let it slip) shots up to my Flickr sire (link in signature). I'll try and upload the GRD shots tomorrow.

Here's a few of what I have so far...

Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday - the Leica shop is just around the corner from our Manchester office, but I've never dared ring the bell! I seem to have been gassed tonight though as I've just bought an R2m and 35 color skopar from ebay - that's the problem with the ZI being away in germany...

Bob, some great shots.

Mike

I wish I had been able to make it. Some gret shots posted already. Where, exactly, is this Leica Shop in Manchester?

Jmiothy: The Leica shop is in Barton Arcade just of St. Annes square. It's quite tricky to find as it's on the second floor/balcony, which you access from outside the arcade. If you go be careful! This was my first visit and I was lucky to come out with enough money for the bus home! Did get a nice camera though. ;)

Stuart: I gave up on the film. I'd only shot half of it so I decided there weren't likely to be many decent or unfogged images on it. Not worth the development cost. The Hexar seems fine though. I need to look more closely at why it happened. I'd never run that type through it before and I think the film may have been a bit slippy for it's drive system which seems to work mostly by friction and not cogs.

Mike: Great to see you. I feel a trip to Blackpool will be in order.
Oh, and I have evidence from the Leica shop too you silver tounged devil! ;)

Blackpool ? Yes ,drop me a line. The season will be in full swing in a month or two.
The Leica shop...those shutters really are quiet !

Looks like a fun day was had by all :) can't wait to see more shots and hopefully will be able to make the next meet (work/family commitmtnts notwithstanding)

Some good ones there Stuart.
What lens did you use on the firsts shot; the Summaron? It has some lovely creamy tones.

I've just worked up another from the day and added it to my Flickr site.

Nice shots - and it looks like it was a good day out!, I wish I had been there....the spirit was willing, but the flesh was weak!. I've been taking things a little too quickly - since my problems, and was'nt feeling too well!.....must learn more patience, and I'll get to the next one! :)
Dave.
