Not Bad, NEW Nikon S3 2000 Chrome Body $1222

I'm not a Nikon RF owner, but this strikes me as a very good price for a camera of this quality and in such excellent condition.

No you were not!!!
I am surprised, dreamsandart should have listed it here! It WILL sell.

I believe he did have his cameras listed here but they did not sell.

It's nice to see some realistic pricing for these cameras. Now perhaps more people who wish to shoot with them wil be able to afford them.

Got back from one of those wonderful Kyoto Japanese dinners with my wife and mother-in-law last night to find that I've been getting so much attention, I'm blushing - maybe its the sake :)

Yes, I've decided to sell the S3 with the idea these days I'm more than happy with a single Nikon RF and a lens or two along. So the new SP is going to be my Nikon along with the 35/50 lens system for now. Lucky me :D

And to afford this extra 'something different' system along beside my usual Leicas I've bought and now sold a few of these new Nikons, but I think this is it as in the end its been more trouble than I need at this time (slow sales, change of minds, and other 'problems'). So sorry I didn't list it here first, but it is available to RFF readers too of course, I just wanted to reach a larger buyers base and hopefully someone that really wants it enough for a quick sale. If I have to think too long I may just end up keeping it!

Last I looked there were 30+ people watching the S3, so maybe someone will hit the 'buy it now' in time. We'll see what happens. And to answer the couple questions I see here... Yes, I started at $1,200 but thought about it and like 2s so increased the price to $1,222, since no one has made up their mind about it I get to change mine too is the way I see it. I picked this camera up at the Osaka Camera Show a few months back. It was on display so I didn't buy it 'in the box', and yes I did fire the shutter off to check it out when I got it thinking I would keep it, it works and sounds fine. I also took the lens off and on a couple times so that may effect your desire to have this camera.

Any question let me know.

Hi All,

Someone decided to get the S3 after all - SOLD this afternoon (Japan time). I was out today with the SP loaded with HP5 around Kyoto station, one happy camper, but I'm already thinking 'what if I really do like these Nikon RFs a lot?' and may have to keep an eye out for another S3... :)

What's that, a body without lens??

If you want a Nikon RF body, buy a classic S2 for 400 USD like me. You can have the old logo, plus it's really a classic and not just a remake. Take asite 200 USD for a shuter overhaul for continous use the next 50 years.

If you want a classic RF body with 3 framelines 35-50-100 buy a Canon P, 300 USD. Probably will keep work the next 50 years without a shutter overhaul. Lenses a lot cheaper at the same quality, and more available too.

I cannot understand that. Maybe I would buy the lens for 700 USD, but not the body for 1200....

some people like the idea of using a new Nikon rf camera and are willing to pay well for the privilege.

a Canon is not a Nikon and vice versa,
although I understand what you are saying.
the rangefinder camera ride is not logic based at most times.
