One of the web's best loved classic photographs - universally credited to the great photojournalist Henri Cartier-Bresson - was taken just six years ago, quite some time after Cartier-Bresson's death. Let's meet the bloke who snapped it.

... I've not seen that photo before, or seen it attributed to Henri so I think they're over egging that particular pudding, what brings you to propagating it here? ... anyway, he was dead before it was taken so he'll probably not complain I expect?

I've never seen that photo or the attribution before, which I'd have been surprised by.
If google images says it's so, then it must be!

I've never seen that image before either, and I'm a fan of HCB.

... I expect so, the training shoes and ballistic-nylon bag would have alerted the real Henri to the anachronism I expect

Looks like she's wearing a digital watch.

Just as everyone else here, I haven't seen that image before. If I had, however, I'd proabably been more likely to believe it was taken by William Wegman :-D
(PS: "Entire Internet"? Really? I never signed off on that.)

I've never seen this before.
However, Martine Franck's photos get credited to Cartier-Bresson all the time.

It's funny... I knew this as an HCB image, but it never sat right with me as something that he'd make. Now I know why... :bang:

.. it always struck me as too organised for Henri ... but oddly that "Mario's bicycle" (or whatever it's called) has a very similar composition. Although a lot of his early stuff looks a bit posed that one was just too accomplished somehow

Just an exercise in "bovine scatology" as Norman Schwartzkopf once said. Henri didnt shoot his subjects from behind. He was far too skilled at shooting them head on before they realised. A true ninja with a leica.
