Well I thought it would be more plasticky (for lack of a better word) and less solid like the fuji's. Lots of hype around this camera so it would be nice to take a look.
Yeah, I'm not the type who thinks plastic is bad. However, its slow to write files, is effective at low ISOs only, and you have to use sigmas software or export as TIFF to use elsewhere. It isn't for everyone. I guarantee everyone will hate it. I like it.
Bump...The meet-up is this Sunday and not the 18th.

Meet-up was small... about 8 people. Still cool though, even if Cal spilled a beer all over my lap.

John,
Sorry for the spilled beer. The accident was likely due to the 99 rolls of film I processed over a three day period. Developing film in a Marathon session definitely is not healthy.

Cal, I'm just messing with you... it's no big deal. At least no gear or photos were harmed.

Yes indeed, it is with the MM. On the orig. file you would be able to identify someone's fingerprint in the lower right area of the bulb...

Thanks to all for the interesting discussions. As a follow up on lens quality and film resolution the following links to an interesting article -- more than you ever wanted to know.

Also, in http://vitaleartconservation.com/PDF/affects_of_lens_quality_on_image_resolution_v3a_draft.pdf
there is an Appendix 1 - Note on Digital Cameras, which concludes that 35mm Fuji Velia film has an equivalent image resolution to a 24 MP (4000 x 6000 pixels) sensor.
