Hexanon M 2.0 who has experience with it?

I had one and it is a stellar performing lens. I only sold it to help founding my Millennium Nikkor-S lens. Prices for M-Hexanons 50/2.0 have indeed gone up recently ...

Here two shots taken with my copy of the lens:

Every lens should be used for taking pictures of people drinking beer.

I have a Hexanon 50/2.0 and although it did not use it a lot since I got it I do love the shots I made with it. I can second the comment that it is a very good lens. I cannot compare to Zeiss M or Leica M lenses but it is definitely better then my Nokton 35/1.4 and Color-Skopar 21/4.0 lenses. And these are quite good....

I have read here that the Konica Hexanon line of lenses are excellent. May I have your personal experience with the 50, 2.0?

Mine is very good: very sharp, very good contrast, excellently built, easy to focus. I use it on my Bessa R3a, and it even looks good. Compared to my 40mm Summicron-C it's quite heavy, but the Summicron-C is a very small and light lens.

And it's ridiculously cheap, compared with Summicrons -- I got mine for less than 200 € (via eB*y) not very long ago.

I don't need the super fast version of a 50 as I have a Nockton 1.5 now.

Hmm... What's wrong with the Nocton?

I love mine, it's a great change up from my other 50, the Canon 50 Sonnar. More contrast, more punch and a little more "modern" rendering. Great for both B&W and color; I might even like it better for color. Build-wise it handles excellently and looks pretty flash on the black M6 to boot. I have the 90 Hex as well and they're a great matched pair. If I ever won the lottery I'd add the 35 and 28 without a moment's hesitation.

My daughter this past weekend after coming home from a birthday party. M6, 50 Hexanon, Portra400NC.

The 50/2 M-Hexanon is just splendid..

Build quality is super. Focus and aperture control are butter-smooth.

Best things about it optically, is that it renders out of focus areas very nicely (1st picture @f2), and that it handles the most adverse light conditions with astonishing ease (2nd picture), retaining a delicacy in shadow areas that other lenses would just flare out on.

Interesting thread.
Could someone briefly outline the main differences between the 50mm M-Hexanon and UC-Hexanon?

EDIT: I just found out there is no such thing as a 50mm UC-Hexanon 🙂

Beautiful 3-d rendering. More microcontrast than my 50 1.5 nokton. Very sharp wide open, beautiful bokeh at f4 (a little busy at f2).
