the rules are a hodge podge of both old and new owners, that were created as the need presented itself.
i don't pretend to have the wisdom to create a set of rules that would make all happy and keep the members satisfied.

Actually, I think it's pretty great that both RFF and CameraQuest are American enterprises, and that people from all over the world gather here to gain inspiration, talk about RF cameras. I've looked and I've found nothing quite like RFF or CameraQuest on the internet. So while some wish this place were Canadian or European-based, it isn't, and I doubt it could ever have been.
Jorge is a dork, Stephen a shrewd businessman, but without their efforts both at RFF and CameraQuest we wouldn't be having so much fun.

Art is of course debatable, it's a matter of disagreement but not of denigration. If it is considered as porn, then I support radical banning of all nudes on RFF, even for adults 🙄

The borderlines separating art or "Erotica" from simple porn always and everywhere have been dynamic and very "elastic" during the last 2500 years. It's a matter of tolerance. And the less afraid a social community is of sexuality the more tolerance can it grant at this point.😉 Very simple.

the rules and their priorities.

A couple of points:
I don't think it's catastrophic that the picture was deleted. If the photographer was actually active here at all, he could have let us all know where else to find it. If he's not the least little bit interested in RFF and its member's opinions, then I'm not going to cry over his pictures being deleted. Big deal. It was one photo.
I saw the photo in question and if it wasn't bad art is certainly wasn't good porn 🙂. My comment in the original thread, gone with all the rest *sniff* was that I thought the colours, lighting and background were wonderful but that I wasn't sure about the pose.
I don't see though, Jenni, why one needs to get offended by such pictures - even if it was pornographic. I have indeed seen pictures of aroused male genitalia (possibly mentioned in the l-camera-forum ?) (supposed to be art). Big deal.
Personally, I think all genitalia and acts of sex should be banned. So there. That would solve all of the world's problems.
Sanders, you don't need to keep saying that you're new here and that your opinions are not so important. 🙂 You're still a great photographer, even if you've got a Leica, so you can say what you like with as much, or more, authority as anyone. (Just don't mention a word beginning with P).

Great forums such as this should have rules to keep the participants in bounds. If one of us doesn't agree with a moderator's action or the policies in general, I'd say fell free to establish your own forum and website. It isn't a big deal. I'm an adult and can decide what I want to see and when. It doesn't have to be here.
