Randy,
Evidently this hipster shoved a guy on the subway. Perhaps the local was not walking fast enough or wanted to get around the local who was in the hipster's way. Also know that this event happened in East Harlem which is gentrifying at an alarming rate.
Also I have been pushed and shoved by all kinds of people, and depending on my mood sometimes I either shove back, go crazy or one time I elbowed this woman right in the nipple (inadvertantly because she was pushing me down a crowded staircase). I didn't aim, I wasn't looking, and I only learned that I hurt her because she was cursing at me in Spanish, and I cursed her right back in Spanish. I just swung my elbow really hard to send a clear message. BTW the staircase was mobbed and was a sea of people.
As far as shoving and pushing on the subway the worst is the Bedford stop on the "L" train (hipster haven), and anywhere on the 6 train. They say that more people ride the 6 train in a day than the entire Washington DC Mass transit.
Anyways the word entitlement comes to mind, and sometimes I find myself hard pressed to restrain myself from the good old days (1970's). I kinda give a lot of credit to the local for restraining himself.
The way Maggie explained it to me the hipster knew what he did was wrong, and he suddenly saw a severe beating coming.
At the Bedford "L" Maggie repeatedly reported getting pushed from behind from hipsters when we lived in Williamsburg.

The 6 train I can agree with that.
What amazes me about some people is they
wear their headphone and pay to much attention on their phones as well.
That's me...

That's me...However, only during rush hour. And I ride the 6 all of the time and have never seen pushing and shoving Cal has seen. Perhaps it doesn't happen between Wall St. and 77th st during the hours I ride it.
The Westside is not as bad as the Eastside, maybe because there are
more lines, once they open the second Ave. subway it will help.

John,
My life experience, perhaps because I stand out in a crowd so much, is that I have this tendency to bring out either the best or worst in people. It does seem that I get more than my share of crazy stories involving danger.
Who do you know who has been mistaken for a woman by a serial rapist? Me.
Do you know someone who was chased by a NYPD Police Helicopter because he was trespassing in a railyard on a September 11th? Me.
Who can start a story with "I was just walking along, minding my own business..." and something then incredible happens that is remarkable. Me.
Who do you know besides yourself that gets mistaken for NYPD because I happen to be in the right place at the right time wearing a Gossen Luna Pro light meter?
Who do you know who has had their camera mistaken as a handgun? Me.
Countless times I almost become a news story. Almost pancaked by a cab right in front of my building; almost hit by a full bottle of water thrown from a housing project; could of been shot by NYPD in a case of mistaken identity like in the Rolling Stone song "Heartbreaker;" could of been taken hostage during an armed robbery by the robber who pistol whipped the McDonalds Manager, and again could of been shot by NYPD if a gunfight began.
Anyways somehow I have crazy luck. Never thought I would live so long. Am I lucky?

There was another stabbing on the 2 train yesterday upper westside, you just have
to be aware of your surroundings. What amazes me about some people is they
wear their headphone and pay to much attention on their phones as well.
Bob,
Yesterday's event ended up being a murder because the victim died.
I did news reporting for a year and a half that was broadcast on cable, and I have a Master's in TV Broadcast Journalism. That particular story says stabbing, but the information reported strongly suggests that it was another slashing. The attack started at 138th Street. The victum was seen bleeding on the train applying pressure to his wound, and by the time the train reached 110th Street the victim was dead because he had bled out.
What makes me think that this event was another slashing instead of a stabbing is that the victim boarded the train at 138th Street where he had been attacked. Makes more sense that he was slashed and bled out due to art-tear-ial bleeding.
My training in journalism makes me question the veracity of the reporter. A stabbing is very different than a slashing.
Also here is yet another unusual event: Who do you know that almost fell from a WWII B-17 bomber flying over Jones Beach with an $80K video camera covering a news story? Me.

Yes I heard that late last night the victim died, and the other persons involved
a father with his daughter say the victim went after the daughter and the father
was protecting her.

Bob,
I'm unsure if we are talking about the same event. In my story the attack happened on the platform at 138th Street, the victim boarded a number 2 train, and bled out by the time the train hit 110th Street. The reported stabbing (likely slashing IMHO) happened Wednesday night.
Is your murder a separate murder that just happened to happen on the Westside?
Understand that a typical news story on TV is only 6-7 sentences and only is about 1 1/2 minutes long; and it is not uncommon for some stories to get reported again over a two day period. Basically an interesting story gets milked and told again, sometimes with more detail, which might be in this case.
Then again it could be a separate crime/incident.

Another interesting story involving crime, danger, the media, and violent murder.
The time was when Ronald Reagan was President, and I worked at Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage.
There was this news story of how some young guy got into a dispute with another that involved some bullying component. So the smaller guy kinda came back with a baseball bat and beat the bully into a coma, which in a day or so later the bully died.
It so happened that this event happened in Massapequa a town not far away (next town just south) from Bethpage where I also lived (other than me an otherwise all white middle class suburban community).
So I become acquainted with the story at work because my boss shows me the composite sketch on the cover of the Daily News, which I would later learn was also front cover of the New York Post, and then my boss asks me if I did it. The man described was tall yet thin with black hair, almond eyes, and olive skin, but I matched the composite sketch rather closely.
I go to the local deli in Bethpage and my friend Gary behind the counter asks if I did it. That is when I learn that there is a sketch of me on the cover of the New York Post. Gary tells me that the guy that got killed was the Captain of the football team and was rather popular, but more importantly that this Italian kid's family has ties to the mob, and that I should lay low and be very-very careful.
A day passes and a rather large bounty/reward is posted, and at this point I feel I could easily be mistaken and be the victim of street justice. I guess the word got out and back to the perp, because he turned himself into the police. Basically he was marked as a deadman.
Why am I so lucky? LOL.

BTW the murderer was Hispanic, but know I've been mistaken for Latino before, and I have a brother who is almost a ringer for Pancho Villa.

So let's pick the place. I say let's try Slainten in the Bowery. Now we have a location and all we need to do is make a date.
Hopefully this works out to be a cool new location.

UPDATE: Been burning vacation time so I don't loose it. Yesterday I had a paying gig on a rooftop near Union Square. Looks pretty good where Maggie and I will get more work from this major luxury home furnishings store.
Also yesterday there was a release of the pro video of Maggie in the 50.5 million dollar penthouse that now I can reveal is the upper penthouse of the Puck Fair building. Over 7600 square feet of interior space and likely 2.5K-3K square feet of wrap around terrace with unobstructed views of midtown.
Also been printing mucho 20x30 for the ICP Symposium.

I failed to mention the sponsor of the video is Corcoran Real Estate.
What is really funny is that the illusion is that Maggie is really rich. Now back to my 650 square foot 1 bedroom in the worstneighborhood in Madhattan. LOL.
If someone could create a link to the video that would be great. The camera used was a "Red Dragon" which I believe features a M9 sensor. The stills from the video look really good BTW.
