Well we make fun of ourselves and each other to create this annual spectical. Old-timers disease is kicking in. I believe this is our fifth year that we held this event.

I say where else in the world do they have a camera beauty contest/gearfest event like ours? Not only corny but also kinda dumb. LOL.

One year we had two M9's when they first came out, and we deemed the one with the lower serial number the "Vintage" M9. LOL.

Then at one Meet-Up, not sure if it was a beauty pagant, we had 7 M9's.

Then there are the freak cameras that we didn't know existed...

I kinda like the idea that anything goes. Its all fun. Wonder what Christian is going to build this year?

I wonder if our reigning champion from last year John C. will get beat up like in other years.

Don't forget that also this is an Olympic year...

Hey NY/Ciudad de Jersey/LoneGuyland et al,

I'll be in town between 2/14-18. In case you haven't picked a date, and want to practice your collective wit on/share your unused Valentine chocolate with a whitebeard from Oregon, I'm more or less available except on the Sunday 2/16 of my niece's wedding, and one other evening (don't recall which) committed to the theater.

Philadelphia. Jersey City. It's all so close considering I've "commuted" between Philadelphia, Albuquerque, Portland, Jersey City, New Mexico, Philadelphia in the past 18 months. NYC is just two hours north and I already have a parking permit for Jersey so it's definitely no bother. Even taking the train up for a day trip is fine.

Whatever date you folks pick, I will try to make it.

Although my cameras are not especially beautiful, except to me. ;-)

I may shell out for Amtrak this time, I had my fill of Jersey Transit/SEPTA. ;-(

For me the end of the month is better after Valentines day, So if you could swing that
it would be great. I have one camera, It's the oldest one I have and it's not a beauty I'll
bring that.

Later in the month also works for me. Also because of the Olympics the Oscars are pushed out into March. Perhaps we need to change the thyme of this years event.

As prizes I'm going to donate some Delta film, both 120 and 135.

23rd probably works better for me but Murphy's law says that once I commit to that date then it will turn out that another day would be better. I'll just roll with the punches.

Considering that Robert will be out in the city from Oregon and I'm going to try to meet him one day during his stay, perhaps the 16th is actually better for me. I'm just thinking in type at this point. Regardless of the day I'm going to try to make it.
