The former site of Indian Point, the nuclear power supply, is undergoing a fast track to do the decommissioning. Usually it takes about 40 years to complete a decommission of a nuclear reactor, but this fast track is suppose to take only 12 years.
Already there is talk about redeveloping the site by the Hudson River into a Data Center. The high tension power lines are already in place and are infrastructure connected to the grid.
People who do crypto currencies similarly don’t understand the power requirements to power a block chain. If they knew they too would see that crypto also is not sustainable. When it fails it pretty much is a Ponzi.
Paper assets seem to be loosing value: currencies; stocks; and bonds; all involve trust but that is eroded.
That is why physical assets like gold or real estate seem like safer bets to preserve wealth.
Again to me AI has it’s application, but it creates more problems than it fixes. I don’t think it is scalable the way investors are looking at it.
The F-35 operates like a flying Data-Center. It can fire missiles that are on other planes like a F15 EX holding 24 medium range air-to-air missiles while in its stealth mode using its sophisticated electronics to locate targets.
This is the most expensive fighter jet in the world.

Sometime last summer, I heard an interview with an infrastructure development policy researcher, and he used the following phrase which I may be paraphrasing, "in order to go electric and reduce the effects of burning hydrocarbons, we'll need to destroy the earth just to extract only a part of the copper needed."
From my lowly point of view, I feel like investors, developers, engineers, whomever, look to their individual issues myopically, and are trying to move forward with their respective projects, not considering secondary or tertiary supply chain effects, nor downstream impacts. It's as if everyone thinks they can simply go to a big box store, spend money, then go about their business. Now our country is treating policy that way. You don't try to levy a tariff without having the means of production already in place, otherwise, you're just cutting off your legs before working to build a factory for running shoes.
In my lowly point of view, everything is unsustainable. I've seen first hand, on the ground, what people will do to feed their children. I fear we're headed in that direction.

Remember the Dot-Com bubble. All this fiber optic cable was being laid…
So are we in an AI bubble? Hmmm…
Like I said, I think AI has it’s application, but it likely will be limited and is not economically scalable to be widespread as investors think.

Diesel/electric locomotives is technology that is more than 100 years old. Today we can buy hybrid cars that use gas engines along with electric motors for fuel efficiency and low emissions.
In 1973 when we had an oil crisis, gas lines, double digit unemployment, and double digit inflation, we could of used this old technology, and we all would be better off.
There was a Harold Robins novel called “The Betsy” about an automotive engineer who wanted to create a car for the masses that was fuel efficient and affordable. Pretty much it was a disrupter, and then it became more of a spy thriller that involved death threats, sabotage, and all this intrigue and conflict from the big-three.
If this car got manufactured it would take out the big three or hurt them badly. The premise was to return to Henry Ford’s basic idea of mass production of a car like the Model “A” or Model “T.”
They made a film out of this book, and it looked like he used a gas turbine engine as a power supply.
My brother was the Nuclear Operator for the failed Shore-Umm Power Supply. He told me to avoid blackouts and brown outs they used gas turbines fueled by natural gas to spin generators as a stop-gap measure.
So pretty much 50 years ago we could of mandated a switch to hybrid cars, but government policy supported the status quo of big existing business.
The basic point I’m stating here is that a very basic and simple technology to some big problems like pollution, limited resources, and related health issues was not pursued.
Understand and know that public health is of no real concern of our government. We are just “Food-Eaters” of no consequence.
The recent Presidential Pardon of Trevor Milton, a Trump and Republican donor who was sentence for big time fraud, is a further example of the lack of Rule-Of-Law. How much more corrupt can we get?

Pretty much the drinking of Cool-Aid continues.
Anyways DeepSeek has a lot of issues, just saying, or asking, Did the AI bubble pop?

Been busy revamping many guitars.
I assembled the 2-tone alder Tele, and with the rosewood neck it has a throaty vocal quality that I love.
Then I discovered a solution for intonating the wound “G” string that I favor for its added warmth. A wound “G” is not the best for bending, and it has not only more thickness, but also more tension. I happen to have on hand enough extra “E” & “A,” and “B” & “E” saddles that I discovered have the right offset to get perfect intonation.
This was a cool discovery that happened because I ordered another bridge, and somehow in conversation came up I use a wound “G” and the new bridge that has a saddle the same spacing as the other two saddles making them technically interchangeable.
Pretty cool updating all my Tele’s and spending no money.
Some of the spare excess saddles I had on hand are made of stainless steel. Brass saddles are favored for more warmth, but the steel saddles emphasize the treble and has added articulation and note separation.
On a Tele, an already bright guitar, too much of a good thing can be bad. So far though it seems like I’m advancing my tone and style a lot with this upgrade. I play clean and any breakup or distortion is from the tube amp and not pedals. “Plug and play.” I say.
I’m being inspired by all this. Lots of creative ideas are being played out.
Yesterday the usual 7 pull-ups, and we walked into the downtown, but I added heavy hands. It was 80 degrees and I was overdress with a heavy long sleeve shirt, so along with the heavy hands my heart rate was increased by my sweating. I noticed the extra tone and tightness in my torso today.
I’m pitching a small cedar greenhouse to “Maggie.” Only $499.00 for a 6 1/2x 6 foot version. I’m a good salesman, so I think this will happen. Our 40x200 is big for Peekskill as most homes are only a 40x100.
Granted it is a city, but pretty much we don’t want to clutter or fill the space. We want to maintain the two small lawns in the back-backyard, and we don’t want to obscure the view off the bluff I’m creating and building out.
I kinda love that there are various spaces in our yard that offer an experience. One space connects and transitions into another making our limited space seem expansive. Layout and design is key.
I love it…

Plumbing Pipe and Connectors from Home Cheapo created for us what we call the "Taj Mahal". One bag cement, we had to recement it in, 70 MPH winds knock down feeder poles around here. This time about 3 feet down so not coming out this time. About $250 from plumbing department, one and done. We have seven feeders, and three suet cages hanging from this thing. The critter baffle and feeders come from Wild Birds Unlimited, each has lifetime warranty and super heavy duty. More expensive but again one and done.
Five Broncolor 1600J Power Packs all aok by Nokton48, on Flickr
Three 1600J Broncolor Primo power packs, purchased for Fifty Dollars each. In back left is my Olde Pulso 2 power pack, and in the front left, my NEW 1600J Pulso A2 pack, with six month warranty. As you can see, a "10" power rating meaning the caps are putting out full output. Yay. The A2 will even do TTL with certain Hasselblad models. And it can ping-pong if you are shooting motrized film cameras. Allof these units are putting out the same output, measured with strobe meter. At 1600J I'm at F45 ISO 100, thorugh the overhead Hazylight. Also I have two more Primos 3000J each, and another Pulso A that needs a fuse repair. And an Opus A firing through my Octobox 150.

CFV16 Hasselblad Digital Back (16MP) Broncolor Hazylight suspended overhead. Hurray for FAT PIXELS. Looks almost a Kodachrome 25 look to it.

The automotive bond sale going on now is the worry that bond holders might not get their money and interest back.
If the company defaults or goes bankrupt these bonds are big losses. Investors would loose a lot. Loss of capitol and likely Pennie’s on the dollar.
Is this what automotive bond holders think could happen?
Because of supply lines and the way the automotive industry supply chain, pretty much tariffs kinda make business untenable. Not easy to onshore, disruptions, shortages kinda lead to layoffs. This involves lots of jobs and is big industry.
I don’t see any way out except a tariff exemption.
Sadly I can see many of these automotive workers being Trumpers. They voted for this…
****************
It seems like my guitars all got elevated. No clear favorite, and pretty much each one has great attributes that make it special, and no redundancy even though I have 14 electrics.
This is a powerful position to be in.
I’m grateful…
I am so inspired and this thing is happening where expression just spills out. Something wonderful is happening…

A walk into the downtown today, but without heavy hands, Rained earlier, and I felt a little drizzle.
“Maggie” says research suggests that 300 minutes of walking a week sustains a healthy heart. That’s 5 hours of walking a week as maintenance.
Bonus is that exercise (increased blood flow) reduces the risk of Dementia by 50%, but know that women are twice as likely to get Dementia, but also they have longer lifespans than men. Average age of Dementia diagnosis is 82 years of age.
I walk Maggie to help prevent or forestall becoming a caretaker. She carries a family history… In my family both my mother and father died of heart failure. So about 5 hours a week… minimum, but we do a lot more than that.
For me the key to avoid weight gain is muscle. I enjoy eating…
I just wired up the secondary Strat pickguard that has Blues pickups mounted. Next is the Jazz pickguard that is currently mounted on the Strat.
The pickups mount to the pickguard along with the other electronics so the two assemblies are kinda modular and require only a ground and output connection to be operational. For the ground I use a lug with a 3/8th hole that I can use a potentiometer to secure an electrical connection. Only one solder joint has to be disconnected and resoldered.
One guitar, but really effectively two.
Next week is the Woodstock Book Festival. Maggie thinks we can only attend one day, but pretty much it is an hour and 20 minute drive and is only 69 miles away. No need to stay overnight I say, and driving there is no big deal. In my mind if I were a writer this event is a big deal to attend, even if you are not presenting.
Alissa Altman will be presenting again, Abigail Thomas, again, and Moon Unit will be presenting.
Well anyways women’s logic…
On Saturday she has possibly a training for volunteering at our local library’s bookstore. This is tentative, and for a writer not a big priority.
Oh-well. Woman factor… Makes no sense to me… Oh-well again.
This morning I saw one of my rabbits. Also the birds have not been feeding so readily on the free food we give them. It’s cool because the timing is that the bird food pantry is depleted once the feeder is emptied.

I am allergic to cats. Their dander gives me a rash, but at one time I owned three cats.
One was a black cat, skinny and small like me. Cleo was kinda anti-social and I rescued her from an animal shelter.
Blackie was a B&W Persian that some couple was going to put down because they were going to have a baby. She came with bad teeth and cost me a lot of money right away to have three tarter removed. She was about 10 years old when I adopted her.
Blackie was more like a dog than a cat. She would wait for me at the door for me to come from work, she ignored the wife and kids, but gave me all her love. Her meow to get my attention sounded like her calling out my name: Cal-Cal-Cal she would call when she wanted my attention.
Then there was Willie that came from a litter of strays. He ended up being a Main Coon Cat and weighed 25 pounds. He was a dumb cat. Cleo the smallest cat bullied him. Anytime someone would open the fridge he would come running for food. He was so big people were afraid of him.
I fished every weekend, and these cats would wait in front of the oven for their share.
So pretty much I rescue cats, I identify with them, and I am kinda cat-like.

The markets have the “jitters” according to a headline. The day ended mixed with the DOW up over 400 points, even though the pre-market looked like a continued sell-off. The S&P followed the DOW upward.
The Nasdaq though floundered and ended up in the red.
Meanwhile both gold and oil are up. I filled up with Moble Premium today $3.639 a gallon. Interesting to see oil at over $71.XX, but sometimes gold and oil move in tandem. Both are commodities and with expected inflation commodities prices are part of inflation.
****************
I got the chemical castration injection this morning in the pelvic area. The nurse was looking for some fat to pinch to do the injection, and she remarked at me being skinny and mentioned she was jealous.
The injection site at one point after the needle was removed felt like someone was holding a soldering iron there: a constant burning feeling that was intense.
I am told that the hot flashes could begin in a few days. My treatment looks to be for a year, and I’ll need an injection every three months. I have to go back in 6 weeks for a check-in to see how I’m doing with the side-effects.
I inquired about how long it would take to get my testosterone levels back, a bit lower due to aging, and I was told about a year. Then I asked about the probability of no testosterone level recovery, and pretty much I was told about 10% never recover their testosterone.
So I’m hoping I’m in the 90%.
I weighed myself fully dressed and a fancy digital scale: no keys, wallet or watch; but fully dressed with light shoes, and no morning poop. I weighed 159 pounds. Figure drop 2 1/2-3 pounds. My poops are mucho big, and this was after a 3 egg breakfast with 3 sausages and an English muffin.
Because I am already thin and muscular I likely will remain so, and I won’t get fat or chubby. Remember I am a vain man, my friends say, “Worse than a woman.”
Today I did 8 pull-ups, but I have to do more strength training.
I spent the afternoon finishing assembling the black Strat that is a hardtail (no Tremolo). I had to cut a nut which is a bit tedious to do right, and I did a basic setup, but I still have to intonate the guitar so it will play in tune. This guitar likes to be played close to the bridge, a la Jeff Beck.
Unlike the Candy Apple Red Strat with Trem, I’m able to use 12’s for my fat tone. 11’s on the CAR Strat.
I kinda am in love with having a wound “G” string. It has a more full tonal response that is richer. Part of my style is bending the “G” string. It has a distinct vocal character.
I found four 0.015 uf NOS paper and oil caps that I secured at Grumman, must be back 30 years ago. My last 4.
This value cap is kinda magical in that it is known for a vocal quality called “Woman-Tone.” Originally it is said that Eric Clapton changed the Gibson guitars he played in the Cream era from 0.022 uf or 0.02 uf to these 0.015 uf to roll off the right amount of highs.
So I woman-toned the two pickguards.
So now I kinda have to obsess over strength training during this fem-out over the next 2 years. When I get the radiation treatment it likely will curtail sitting on a bike seat. I’ll likely get the “salvage” treatment where my entire pelvis gets dosed, so the bladder and rectum will receive some collateral damage.
I can do standing hill climbs just round the corner on Renold’s Hill which is a quarter mile long and steep standing with a lowered saddle. Builds lots of leg strength. Kinda like doing intervals. Might have to do some riding standing. This burns lots of energy, because you have to support your full body weight. Mucho intense…
Back to intonating the new Strat.
The grandson tells “Maggie” that he wants to have as many guitars as me. LOL.

LOL.

Finished 28 days of radiation treatments today. A bit of what I hope is temporary urge incontinence as a side effect.

ASA,
The reason I was given why my radiation treatment was delayed is that they want me fully healed from the surgery. My understanding is that the collateral damage cause by “salvage” therapy irradiated the rectum and the bladder.
Loose stools, and bleeding can result, as well as blood in your urine.
From what I know the bladder and rectum suffer damage, but our hope is that these irritated organs settle down.
Thanks for the post BTW.
I write about this experience as a public service. Many men as they age will have to deal with prostate Cancer.
Today I just started the ADT (hormone therapy). The Cancer without testosterone kinda gets starved, and the tumors actually can shrink. 6 weeks from now I‘ll get another PSA, and I am told it should be a “zero.”
I figure it will be around May-June when I get the radiation. I had my radical prostatectomy in mid-January.
Good to know that the full surplus pull-up diapers (Depends) might be needed, at least for sleeping.

The black Strat hardtail turned out to be a mucho hot guitar.
A surprise is how great the middle pickup is by itself, and also how the full sweep of the tone pots is useful.
The neck is quartersawn. From the online images I determined this, but it did not carry the up charge. Quartersawn necks are very stiff and also are more stable than riff sawn woods. My guess is that maybe almost as stable as roasted maple.
I got a hot deal on the neck also.
I built and set up the guitar with a raw neck. I’m waiting for mild weather and low humidity to spay a thin lacquer finish on the neck.
This Strat only weighs 6 1/3 pounds, very light for a Strat. Plays well and wonderful tone.
I love it…
