This I believe is the anniversary month of when the NYC Meet-Up was first started by Damaso 7 years ago.
Let's make a Sunday date.

Just a heads-up: we might have corporate sponsorship, meaning a big/huge prize for our January 2016 event from a major vendor from PhotoPlusExpo.
I got the verbal yes at the Expo, today I sent out the e-mail to firm things up.

Beer sponsor?
John,
Had a verbal "Yes" Saturday, but so far no response from my Monday E-mail to firm up the commitment.
Not beer, but something that every photographer needs.
Cal
I know Cal... I just thought it would be fitting since we meet in a bar.

John,
Free beer would be a great thing. LOL.
Anyways I hope our sponsor does not M-bare-Ass me.

Hello everyone,
My name is Jean Claude Araque and I've been a frequent visitor to this site for a couple years and only recently became active in conversation. I'd like to join the November meet up.
I'm currently using a 1962 Leica M2 w/ 40mm M-Rokkor and 90mm Tele-Elmarit f2.8.
These are my images. https://www.flickr.com/photos/80442584@N07/

Best,
Jean,
No Leica is required to join in. We like all cameras. LOL. That's the problem.
The place where we meet is at Puck Fair starting around 1:00 PM and we usually break off around 5:00 PM.
So far we haven't picked a date, but typically its almost always a Sunday.
Any particular Sunday good for you?

The PhotoPlusExpo was kinda surreal for me. I brought a 13x19 print to give to my friend Robert Rodriguez, the Artist-In-Residence at the Canson Booth, but later I borrowed my print back (Domino Sugar Refinery shot with a cloudy sky from the Williamsburg Bridge) to show Richard Herzog (from Phase One) who was one of the Leica nerds manning the SL counter.
Because I'm a jerk it is my tradition to tell Leica how they can make me a better camera so I kinda whip out my 1975 black SL2-MOT that Sherry built for me from two donor cameras that now resembles a camera that I stole from a museum. "Couldn't your marketing department come up with a new name?" I asked Richard, "And why buy a new SL when I already own an old one."
After I broke the ice Richard was deeply interested in how I shoot my Monochrom and how I print with seven shades of black using Piezography, and somehow rather smoothly I had the opportunity to show my work to people that matter. I borrowed back my print from Robert to show Richard and kinda became a sensation.
A picture is worth more than a thousand words, the IQ and tonality blew them away, and then I was directed to show both the SL2-MOT and my print to this older Leica rep who evidently is the big cheese with a German accent.
Anyways it was really great getting my talent and skill recognized at such a high level. I created quite a stir.

Robert,
Thanks.
Its not easy impressing those guys.
Now I got to rob some 7-11's to get about $3K together so I can load that Epson 7800 that I bought for $100.00. LOL. The things we do for art.
