I wish there was a small questions thread, but can someone recommend any photolabs for developing and scanning in manhattan or queens? I'm completely new to film but have a few rolls that I want developed at a place I can trust. Thanks in advance!

Scanning is always the issue... I haven't found any decent (and cheap) scanning in NYC.

I'll put in a decent word for Manhattan Color Lab (4 West 20th Street in Manhattan). Full service, decent pricing and decent turnaround.
However, given the fact that I (1) live in Brooklyn, and (2) primarily shoot C41 negative film for my work (color and chromogenic b/w), I'd like to put in a nice word for my friendly, local minilab-on-steroids, Accurate Photo Shop, on 5th Avenue between 13th and 14th Street at the Southern end of Park Slope. Really fast turnaround for develop-only (which is all I require, since I handle everything else myself), friendly staff, fastidious film handling, and fair pricing. All within walking distance for me. Can't take that for granted these days.

When I move back I'll scan your negs for cheap, all you NYC RFF folks! I use a Nikon LS-4000, driven by Vuescan on a computer I built solely for scanning and video editing.
I have a place to live in Jersey City and all but that little snag is still finding employment that I can survive off of, so that's what's causing the delay in returning...
My buddy Matt just got back a few rolls of 120 from Manhattan color and he said several had deep scratches all the way through the whole roll. He's used them for years and never had a single issue so it may have just been a fluke.
