Well-known
I recently sold a Nikon 24-120 VR lens at auction. It was 100% operational when it left my house but arrived damaged. The recipient says the zoom is sticking past 50mm and the AF is not landing on the right objects. I had insured the shipment but the USPS refuses to pay out insurance because the box wasn't damaged enough! All the insurance inquiries have been handled by the recipient of the item.
So two questions:
Do I have options with the USPS insurance? Should I have the recipient send the item to me (along with the original packaging)?
Does anyone know of a good US repair shop for such an item? The chain camera stores (Click, Cord, Ritz, etc) seem to be hit or miss depending on if they have a relationship with a local repair shop.
Thanks...
