off-brand 1.25 viewfinder magnifier

I was pokin' around ebay and found this.

Considering I have the 90 elmar macro and a .72 finder on my MP I've been wanting a magnifier for awhile, but am very turned off by the $$$. So I'm tempted to get one of these. Has anyone tried it out?

I would just buy it on a whim but at $60 it falls just outside of my "what-the-hell-why-not" budgetary threshhold. I kind of want to hear what someone else thinks first.

I wonder if it be used with the diopter lens I keep on my viewfinder?

This outfit is regularly on Ebay. I ordered one as I think it is worth the $. Hopefully I'll get it. I had heard that Leica had sued to prevent OEM manufactured magnifiers in the US. We'll see.

looks like it has an eetsy-beestsy peephole, much smaller than the original Leica magnifier. Tiny lens, I wonder if it's any good......or if you have to jam it in your eye to see anything at all.

HK are reputable. It looks like it may stick out just a smidgin more than the Leica magnifier - but at $60 + $10 shipping I could deal with that. I bought one of the Leica magnifiers recently and I like it a lot. 1.06 on the 0.85 M7. 🙂

It sticks out a lot, so you may have problem with the 35 mm frame, and even the 50 mm frameline. The 28 mm frameline is definitely shot, but that's a given.

HK Supplies is very reputable, so no problems with them per se.
