oh geez...another gear question!

joe,

I'll suggest giving some Arista.Edu Ultra a try. Go to Freestylephoto.biz and take a look. It's the same thing as Fomapan 400 & is much freaking cheaper. Very good film with high quality QC in my experiance. The Czech's seem to have a good feel for what is needed. Ilford means well, but given the overhead costs that being in England implies, I'm just not sure they can survive for any real time longer than Kodak. Hence my attempts to find a non-Ilford replacement for Plus-X. Fomapan 100 is closer than any other option. Hence it get's my money...

Why not support Ilford as strongly as we can while it's struggling for survival? I really like some of their films, especially FP4 and XP2...

I agree. Ilford is really trying their hardest to support B&W photography. I'll be getting paper and print developer from them, methinks. I've found out that Neutol, what I was going to use, is too hard to get to the states yet, and I really should be supporting those who support the sites that I frequent.

I use a 15 on the Pentax quite a bit. I wouldn't like to use on on an RF. It is a very "extreme" focal length and gives odd results if not truly horizontal or vertical. It is also difficult to envisage what the results will look like without the WSIWYG of an SLR finder.

Film is always good. Not as good as a new toy, but it's always good to find it on your doorstep. Congratulations on a smart move, joe! :)
