I suppose so, but then admire your enthusiasm Joe, not to mention persistence ... I do however think the rd1 stuff is among the best work you've done while I've been around, well on screen anyway

PS over the years I've been careful not to touch a Hasselblad 501, cos I know what would happen ...

Thanks. I took a look at site. So if I understand correctly I need base plate and the grip attachment (70+65). Comes in pretty close to the Fuji grip price. One of my friends in southern Calif. has bought from them in the past.

Ps. I ended up buying it. Unlike the Fuji, it looks like u can access the sd card w/o removing the grip.

i do think the rd1 and i were meant for each other.

This is a good start for a very emotion-draining novel. Proceeds of blockbuster novel pay for camera. Now you are famous and get to photograph everyone you've always wanted. How's that?

I do agree with that statement. I think that your photography changed quite dramatically with the RD1. However, you also produced some great stuff with the X100, so maybe it was just coincidental. If it makes you happy then go for it, but I don't think you need it photographically.

I find it helpful to enforce a 72 hour cooling off period, to see if the GAS urgency of the moment will go into remission.

Two things hold me back from the X Pro1: it seems a tad expensive; and it would mean buying yet more lenses. Can't I just be happy taking pictures with all the cameras I already have?

But I did get the X10, though. It feels pretty good in the hand, too.

gas IS wonderful...at times 😉

i wonder about the rd1...i have heard that comment before, that my photography changed with the advent of the rd1...but i sometimes wonder if it was the change from film to digital?

no worries or need for a time out...no cash on hand pretty much puts a hold on any large buy.

Moving from film to digital may have had some effect, but with the RD1 you seemed to have settled and focused more on your photography and less on gear (apart from numerous lens and bag diversions 😉). We're all different, but I noticed that my photography suffered when I got onto the GAS train. I've bought and sold 19 different (mainly expensive) cameras in the last 6 years 3 of them twice! I've spent so much time testing, that I've almost forgotten the point of it all :bang: So maybe stability is the answer - well once my second RD1 arrives next week 🙂

I have 3 L-Plates from them plus a small ball head for my monopod,and yes they design there L-Plates to accommodate most openings. You will be getting the catalog too🙂 Whats nice is the newer plates are modular so you can add the L part if you want later
 
Know the feeling Joe, played with one last week. So far so good but it really is tempting.
