From my point of view the rest are mostly a pile of useless gadgets that most photographers looking for the Barnack experience can do without.

Yes, but I understand that it's the stuff of dreams for the Barnack collector. I fall somewhere in between. The whole collection is somewhat greater than the sum of the parts.

I look at the main meat of the kit and I do not see anything that is super juicy or rare or exotic, I guess I been to too many old camera shows in the past.

Ironically, the only item you couldn't find 10 of on ebay right now is the case, which may not be made by Leica at all.

Hm,

Must be because of having a look while on the iPhone, but to me it seems a hardly used, well-preserved kit with nothing special but a nice kit none the less.
I find it shows a great deal of love for those pieces that somebody collected everything they wanted to have, had a case made for it (not cheap I'm sure) and saved all 24 invoices.

Shouldn't be dismissed so easily, IMHO.
