Stephen Gandy is offering free shipping on all purchases between the 13th and the 27th of March. The NZ$ is strong compared to the US$ right now ($0.75US to $1NZ).
I foresee in my crystal ball a CV 21mm arriving soon...

...Now the sticky part. Should I sell my last Bessa-R to finance this purchase? Thus leaving me with a M2, Zorki 4, Polaroid 185 and 135 and more Canonets than I can shake a stick at. Or sell one of my wargames armies. Oh brother the decisions.

And yes I want this lens. The only thing I've missed since abandoning 35mm SLRs is my 20-35mm lens.

What have you started now Stu?

It's got me thinking about the 25/4 to go wit the L I just got. Gandys price is attractive so long as I don't get stung by Customs. Can't find one cheaper in the UK so far.

It can be a long and tortured path to fulfillment, Stu! That does sound like an attractive opportunity for you, given that shipping is probably a pretty significant expense, ordinarily.

But if you sell your R, the only body you'd have is the M2, and it requires an adaptor. Or do you figure on the Zorki as a user with the 21mm? I'd think the loss of the R would be a bit hard to take.

Is f/4 fast enough for you? With B&W film it may well be, or even slow films in good light. But with color in dim interiors, which I run into a lot, it's chancy even with Fuji NPZ. But I'd prefer slower film for quality reasons. I've been looking into this issue and experimenting with my fast SLR lenses to see how important the lens speed is. F/4 aperture pushes the shutter speed down too much if I go with 400-speed film. So this led me to a 21mm f/2.8 on a Contax G1, a whole different and incompatible camera platform. But pretty economical! This is a strange course diversion, and I know other lenses will come along to "fill out" the system...

Keep it!

I just made a rather strange deal with some guy who will buy mine in exactly three months (he just bought a M2 and has to "channel" some cash every month) AND I AM ALREADY MISSING IT. the horror. I know it's going away but I'll still have it in front of my eyes every single day until JUNE.

I may have to compensate this with a nice 28/1.9 or a 21/4 or a 50/1.5!

Glad I bought a new guitar recently, (well, umm, and that Hasselblad..) no more money to spend, not even the CCs, I am happy if I can afford my next rolls of film :D

Bugger it.. I've splurged out the dosh. The cheque is in the mail Mr. Gandy.

Anyone want to buy a 1870 Prussian Army? How about some WWII British, or maybe some nice 1812 Bavarians? Or absolutely useless 1862 Union division (have never won game yet!).
