And its even more beautiful than it was in the pictures. This thing looks like its brand spankin new! Ive bought my fair share of cheap cameras, but I always knew what I was getting into. I have no flickering of exposure lights, the glass and body is immaculate, Im so HAPPY!

Im aiming to post rangefinder photos tommorrow ;)

That is always a relief. Usually "Oh No" in a header means yet another person got an "Ebay Lemon".

be sure to test out the shutter at small f-stops in limited light. It should stay open for quite a while. That will indicate the shutter is good, the CDS cell is good, and the electronics are in good order. Also check infinity focus. Then run some film through it, and post the results.

No Im oh no-ing because I can feel my inner camera bug going "when are we getting another one?" at least if it was semi crapped out I wouldnt be this happy lol!

I had the same reaction when I got mine in the mail. It's even better when you get the photos from your first roll.

Well I can see this is definately not a support group - well the only thing I see supported here is Gear Acquisition. I just loaded the new baby up with some fuji superia, it reminds me of when I got my first fully manual minolta when I was 14. I think Im in love.

We don't have a problem .... we can give up at any time .... in fact as of tomorrow .... WOW have you seen that ............... over on Ebay :D

Stand back! She may have Yashica-tosis
I thought that was something you got from going barefoot in a chicken yard.
Congrats Kara and I feel the winds of GAS forming in the west. Look out E***

I have suffered from it. Yashica-tosis that is. I have 4. Only one works, mostly. I have to perform surgery someday. The one that works sizzles, the lights are intermittent and the shutter seems erratic when pointed toward a constant light source. But, the old dog goes out with me from time to time.

I aslo suffer from Argus-C-44-aphelia, FEDeritis, Canon's Syndrome, M3-must-try-it-omania, Plaubel's Disease, IIa Deficiant Disorder and Zeiss Fever.

Fortunately, I am Bessa R positive. (ahem)

Anywho... I will recover after a margarita.

Toodles.

Whoo! I'm an August 2005 Yashica GSN acquiree myself. Congrats!

Mine came in really good quality too, but I might need to repair the light seal.

Wow, the Lynx 14 looks awesome....

Y'all are crazy. Brian your the worst :p!

So the fiance comes home and I show him the yashica.... I think it might be something in the water, cos he asked me to look for a 2nd one . Hes fooled with it more than I have.

A quick question - is the little focus spot supposed to be a reeeeeeeeeally tiny yellow diamond? Geez that is tiny  . My new baby is loaded with some old fuji film thats been patiently sitting in my fridge for a year or so, I almost forgot I had it, the only film I regularly take out of the fridge is some 120 bw stuff. Pictures tommorrow evening definately!

Oh and Brians - CONGRATS!!!

I remember thinking the same thing about the rangefinder spot. The pictures in in the manual, etc. make it look like it's dominant in the viewfinder--it's not.

Congratulations, I'm sure you'll enjoy using it.
