oh oh!

Seems you're on a roll now ! You know, I *CAN* even see a Canon 7 or 7s in your not-so-far future 😀

I think these recent GAS episode of yours has something to do with being near the 'magic' 2000. Once you reach it, you'll suddenly find out a new truth and everything will explain by itself <insert Tibetant gong here>.

Just remember to tell us how things look like from up there 😉

Btw I think I know which Serenar it was, starting bid at $49,99 ?

I still think that 90 Elmar is a good option, I don't see the number 90 in your list.

Really though, you are building up a fine bartering lot.

i'm thinking maybe a canon viL. i like the lever wind better than the trigger.
i need to check to see what framelines it has cause i really don't want to use seperate finders for the 85 & 135. for now i'll use the 100 lines on the 'p' and guesstimate.

well, i'm off to buy another big box of cookies to ensure i have some crumbs till the end of the month.

Hey! I wish I could "win" items like that! My search for a paramender was the most frustrating thing... and I lost count of how many I lost. Not long ago, when I was in my eBay summary, I checked the number of unsuccessful bids I had... and it ran about 5 (yes, five) paramenders! All of them were lost to some people who paid outrageous prices for the gizmo (including a $100+ bidder).

I did find a paramender for the astonishing sum of $45, and purchased it from a photo.net member.

I wish I had won one of the Tele-Elmarits I bid (playfully, I should add) on my sleep...

But then, I won't complain. Two days ago I landed 14 rolls of Scala. I'm in film heaven 😉 !!

Well Joe, Let ME Counsel you.

The Canon7 has framelines for the 35, 50, 85, 100, and 135. I think you see my point. You might as well buy one as you will not need to spend more money for lenses. AND IF YOU DO NOT I might just send you my Sandmar finder with settings for:

35-45-50-75-85-90-105-135.

I feel that you are getting off lightly.

i just knew you were going to get in here brian!

as soon as i 'won' the 85 i started to figure that, yes, i would have to get a 7 now. it does seem inevitable.
and then i will have to get the canon 35/2 (or 1.8).

the funny thing about all this is that i have been watching ebay for a cheap 28/3.5 or 2.8 canon lens and i keep finding the longer lenses.
ain't no justice...

joe

If you see a cheap Nikkor 2.8cm in S-Mount let me know. It is the only frame line on the SP that I do not have "filled". I may break down and get the Cosina lens. I am sure that they used a computer to design it. The newer Canon lenses may have been designed with the help of computers, but I make exceptions for Computers that used Vacuum Tubes. After all, they were made of glass too!

the slow cosina has a good rep and a nice small size, but i'm looking for a canon myself. i want the originals for the p and soon maybe a 7🙂.
i'll keep my eyes open for that nikon 28 for ya.

i'm quite happy keeping the bessa with 35/75 combo only.

don't know why but 28's seem less popular on ebay than other focal lengths.

have i mentioned that the 85 is in the mail?
and it's coming from eastern canada (ok, ottawa) so it might actually get here.

and the 135 has been in the mail system for 16 days now.

i know, deep in my heart, that one of these 3 lenses will eventually show up and stop my incessant whining...

joe

ok, first the 135 showed up on friday and today the 85 showed up.
cosmetics are pretty good and it's downright petite compared to the 135.
the glass is crystal clear but the inside of the barrel (just behind the front element) is kinda wierd. at first i thought it was some kind of black goo on it. but it's not gooey. the more i looked at it the more it seemed different than my other lenses and then it hit me. the other lenses are all black just behind the first element. this one is shiny and black. i'm wondering if the matt black flocking (?) has peeled away. but then where did it go? maybe someone took it apart and cleaned it out but did not reapply any black material.
does this sound feasable?
one more surprise, well two actually. the f stops are not clickable. they are smooth and i do not like that. and very strange, the f stops are in the opposite direction of the other 2 lenses.
how can that be?

anyway, at first glance if i get rid of a lens this might be the one just because of the smooth aperture ring.

joe

p.s. my 100/4 -the first lens ordered- is still a no show.
