Oh The MULLING !!

I liken my M9 to a straight razor. You have to know how to use it, less you get cut. But if you do know how to use it, it sings. I don't think your M7+film vs D700 is a great apple to apples comparison of how the M9 sensor will render the scene. There is something to be said about the colors with an M9.

A simple incident meter may help in the future regarding consistent metering. I'm sure that her shirt didn't help with the metering..

Paul,

I used the D700's meter and ignored the M7's meter - I wasn't metering her shirt but I know what you are saying - the M7 film photos came out flat on the Fuji film and quite underexposed but the D700 ones came out almost bang on. I know the M9 would be different but in her recent review of the images she seemed inclined to "enjoy" a lot of the film images - more so than the D700's - and that's without me telling her which were which :)

Cheers,
Dave

Ugh.. now I'm being "tempted" by a local M9 (3 months old) for $6600 CDN - I think this price is a bit high though - I believe used ones are going for a bit less than this ($6600 USD being equivalent, roughly, to $6600 CDN right now) no?

Cheers,
Dave

Dave, i've seen them as low as sub-6k. Check out Dale's or Popflash's demos.... plus it has a 1 yr warranty.

THAT makes much more sense... :)

But I think I may let it slide for the time being... oh the vacillation is endless...
