I was recently away for a week (Argentina) and I'm ashamed to say I didn't bring a single RF

I brought my digital ('cos it's tiny and goes everywhere) and I brought my old Pentax ME Super SLR, and a 2 lenses (24, 50 and a 2x TC) mainly because I wanted some building shots with my (24mm)

Result: only used my 50mm lens and the digital...

Conclusion reached:
I need an interchangeable lens RF...

Current wish is for a Bessa R3/R3a with I think 3 lenses
21 or 25 mm
35 or 40 mm
75 or 90 mm

I think I could get by nicely with 2 lenses - a 35/40 and a 75/90, that sounds like a sweet combo

Sigh... these things aren't cheap...
Donations welcome :p

OT, but did you visit that cathedral of the game, La Bombonera? :) That's where I would've spent my week... ;)

If so, all is forgiven!

Didn't bring a rangefinder!! OK, that's it mister, you are grounded from E-bay for a week!
And you have to turn that SLR in to the principal. Email me for my, er, uh, I mean the principal's address.
:)

no rf?

well, it was a hard lesson but i think we know that you've learned it now.

my recco- r3a w/ 40/75 combo.

that's how i would go.

I think a 21,40,75 combo would be excellent. All couple to the rangefinder, you have super-wide, wide/normal and short telephoto. The 40 will be fast, and all the lenses are compact and light (unless you make your 75 the summilux).

My last vacation I took a 21, 35, 50 & 90 and used them all. The RF lenses are so small it's not a big deal to take most of your stuff. Although the pictures with the lens didn't turn out bad, I did forget to bring the 21mm viewer - doh!! :(

You only forgot your 21mm viewfinder, I haven't seen mine since the trip I took to Mystic Seaport with Rover and HuckFin. I think I left it where we had lunch, or it got lost along the way :(

Luckily, I do know that with the R2, the full viewfider area is a reasonable approximation of the coverage of the 21mm. Its harder to view, and not as accurate, but I can get real close with it.

hey, didn't rover just have one of those for sale?

Stephen that's too bad. :( I have a 20mm Russian finder and I recommend it big time. Has mechanical parallax correction. :)

Another suggestion: an AGFA AMBI Silette a 35, and 90 mm Lens. It' has a leaf shutter ;-), it's a really quiet camera, and it's not so expensive :).

Chenick, I found it interesting that although the 50mm lens was the only one you used, you didn't list one for your rf wish list?

I also have an ME-Super. Besides the 50mm f2 I have a nice Pentax 70-200zoom, but it rarely gets used. Even the best portraits I've done have been with the 50. I imagine if I get an interchangeable lens RF, I'd definitely want a 50 to go with it. (And a 28 or so, and a telephoto up to about 90 or so. Ah well, one day...)

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Steve

Steve, although on my SLR I do love the Pentax 50mm f1.4, I didn't list the 50 for the RF because after using the 45, 42 and 40mm lenses of my different RFs, the 50 doesn't seem wide enough!
I'm sure I could get used to it though!
