Old color neg film

I have some 120 portra 160 vc expired in 2000, and some kodak pro 400 220 expired in 1997. I'm not sure how to expose it or if it's worth shooting. Suggestions?

Definitely worth shooting. Give it an extra stop for every 10 years, and then an extra one or two stops. I'd try both at ev25.
I generally shoot c41 colour at one or two stops over anyway.

Where are many photogs who are using old film. Try it, you might like it or not.

I've been reading lots on this. I have loads of expired film. Most people say +1 stop for every 10 years out of date. A lot of people say shoot it as it should be shot. Colour negative seems better than anything else to shoot out of date.

Where did that advice come from? There is a half life to film sensitivity and it is 10 years???

I'm currently shooting ancient Portra VC160 at box speed and this is what it looks like:

Noblex 150, Portra VC160

Thanks for the info everyone! I will experiment with a roll of each and see what works. The 220 will be good for bracketing.
