Face for Radio
Ok so I like to tinker. I have an old Olympus digi P&S model # escapes me. would like to get my hands on an old box camera and fit the sensor into the back. my question is how do P&S normally focus? Can I just pull the sensor out and plop it in? I know there is more to it than that but I would like to know if anyone thinks this possible or has anyone done it.
Thanks

The sensor would act as film, so as long as it is placed the proper distance from the lens it would focus just fine.
However, you must remember that the sensor of the camera is undoubtedly very small, so the lens would appear to be extraordinarily long due to the magnification factor of smaller sensor vs. "normal" lens.

I'm no techie soI am confused. How will you get the image from the sensor to memory and then download it. Won't you need all the innerds as well? Sounds interesting. I wonder if a google search will come up with pinhole digital shoeboxes. I'll check.
