And when you don't have anything wider - just do a panorama (4 Ultron shots)

Nice shots Roland. Looks like you are enjoying the short visit to Japan. 🙂 Wish one day soon I'll be able to go visit the Tsukiji market and have some early morning sushi. 🙂

Thanks, Gabor, Erik and Sug. Gabor, hope to meet you next time. Sug, Tsukiji will be moved later this year, not sure if it will be still accessible afterwards.

A couple more that show how nice of a background the lens renders when you have to use it wide open:

So far I am happy with my 1.2/35mm I Voigtlander. What is the new 1.7 Ultron offering my lens doesn't have?

Pro for the new Ultron: no distortion, smaller. Con: one stop difference.

For film, I would probably prefer your lens, Peter. On the 240, speed is less important, IMO.

On Flickr, I like a lot some photographs by Jim Delcid with the old ltm Ultron 35/1.7.
I suggest it as a source of examples of the old ltm Ultron. (great Planar 50 ZM "examples" too from Jim)

Also interested to see the new Ultron on film

Thanks for sharing, Ferider. I never seen California wild life side, even if I have been in CA a number of times. I, like you, ride and I go camping a lot to the the Boundary Canoe Area here in Minnesota, but unlike you, I am shy about posting my pics. I have been enjoying your posts for a long time, starting with your experimentation with Roninal (3ml) way back when. I admire your work and willingness to share your efforts.
Thanks again,

Grazie mille, Giorgio, your post made my day ! 😱 🙂 One day, I will make it to Minnesota in winter, for landscapes, it's on my bucket list. If you ever come by the Bay Area, let me know, I always have a spare ride.

Have to get back to Rodinal !

The wobble, ominous sounding. Is there a prophylactic servicing for the wobble? My Ultron needs collimation - probably because the previous owner repaired the wobble and put it back together incorrectly.
