Just got back into photography going on a year now after a twenty year break. I get the digital thing it is 2013 and technology gets better each year but sometimes I can do with out it all. Taking a photograph with my Mamiya 645 and then going into my "traditional darkroom" to me is not only most enjoyable and satisfying but true photography to this 54 year old .

You don't have to be "old school" to enjoy the process.
It is truly "satisfying" in a way that those who chase after pixel-perfections will not understand (I can talk, I was one of them years ago).

I have five film cameras and about to get another one. I have two digitals, a GRD IV and a Canon S95 that i want to sell (keeping the GRD). Film photography has a particular smell that mixes with your DNA and blood that when one who has ingested it, it can never be removed. I know, Jesus told me so, or maybe it was Juan.

This from Mary Ellen Mark:
I'm not against digital photography. It's great for newspapers. And there are photographers doing great work digitally. When they use Photoshop as a darkroom tool, that's fine, too. But at this point of my life, after so many years, I don't really want to change, and I still love film.
If there's something "wrong" with shooting film, I can't see what it is for the life of me. ;)

I love the way film slows me down, makes me think of the shot, exposure and composition, then makes me wait for the results. I have good digital cameras but I get more pleasure out of an old film camera and a leisurely walk.

Film doesn't slow me down. Digital doesn't speed me up. I take photos, usually one at a time.
I see a photograph, I take it.
Pretty simple.
