Well-known
The FED 5 is generally despised because of its appearance and size, but in my experience the chance of getting a properly working camera of this model and especially its predecessor the FED 4, is better than for earlier models. I think that manufacturing precision improved with time.

Well yes, they definetly look and feel "cheap"
Coupled with the Jupiter 8 or Industar 61 they do a pretty good job. Congratz on getting a full working copy

Well yes, they definetly look and feel "cheap", but their performance is quite decent. Mine is the meter-less version and so far it has done its job properly. Only issue I had was that rangefinder was bit unaligned, but that was fixed quite easily.

Yep guys.... despite the non working meter (and frame counter too)... this camera worked well and seemed reliable. I own both (J8 & Industar 61) lenses and I like these very much. often I ask myself if it makes sense buyng lenses worth 10/100's more.....?
Brw. sometime I buy these lenses.... :bang:
