Oly OM4T Black or chrome?

They both wear very poorly over time so if you get one protect. They're supposed to be quite well made with flaky paint from what I've heard

voted black :)
i had a chrome om2n for ten years it was really nice, but didn't feel it with the om4.

The both get rather ugly, Akiva, over time. Paint flakes off, and the Ti is dark grey underneath.

If you care for cosmetics, the OM4 brasses much nicer. I suggest to find an OM4 with newer circuitry (isn't Frank still selling one ?).

Roland.

I got my OM4T in champagne for a good price and it's nearly flawless. In black it would have cost a lot more.

So, while I would prefer it in black, I wouldn't spend more money for black, especially if it was more worn and scratched up than the one I got.

I think Bruce, above, is correct: "Black definitely takes better pictures", because mine are not so good and I'm sure it's the camera - certainly not ME !!! :)

He was ... and did ... to me! :D

:) Always nice to see stuff staying in the family ...

I'm looking forward to getting it in a few days Roland ... I think it will suit some situations perfectly with the spot metering and extra shutter speed.

I'm even thinking I may (gulp) 'pimp' it slightly with a new covering from camera leather.

On this basis I have to answer Akiva's question by voting black! :D

Well the rest of the story is that I looked at both colors and then saw a Nikon FM2N and came to my senses (was I really going start buying all new glass?). I popped for the FM2n.
But those Oly OM's are truly sweet.
