Oly Stylus Epic Serial # Database

I'd like to get a handle on when production shifted between countries on this little beastie, and possibly a general idea of production date based on serial number. To that end, I'm going to try to compile a database of partial serial numbers, where made, and when purchased (if possible). Please help!

To start, I currently have two, with a new one on the way from B&H (they've been discontinued AFAIK, so get 'em now!). I'll update when it arrives.

#1 - 7813xxx, "Made in China", purchased new from B&H Fall 2003
#2 - 5528xxx, "Assembled in Hong Kong, Parts made in Japan", purchased used

Additionally: #1 is labeled "Olympus Optical Co., Ltd.", and #2 is labeled "OLYMPUS, Tokyo, Japan".

It's been quite some time ago that I had my two Epics (MjuII where I live). The first one from HongKong, the second one marked China. Didn't make a difference whatsoever.. both died within a 20 roll life span.

Well, actually there was a difference, the first broke because of the film advance, the second had a dead meter..

I guess others were luckier than I was..
