you can adjust the rangefinder alignment easily.
open the film door, on the top rail of the film gate you will see a screw that is the rangefinder adjustment. use some magic tape across the film gate to make a ground glass, and a release cord to hold the shutter open.
Very easy to get perfect focus and check it every so often

I got it a recently from Rocky Cameras for £25. Bought a cheap Trip for the case and lens cap. No idea if £25 is a good price, but I have bought a few cameras from them and they have all turned up as described. This one is in Exc++ condition.

£25 is a brilliant price - they normally go for nearer £100.

I have two 35RCs, the second had been bought on an impulse because it was so cheap. The thing is, the first one has a clean lens but a stiff shutter release button (and light leak problems), and the second one has a really smooth shutter release button but not a clear lens. So, -in terms of cost - is it worth taking it to a specialist repair man and ask him to replace the lens on the second one, or is it something you would perhaps try to do yourselves, with the risk of destroying both cameras?

In your shoes, I'd get the one with the decent lens repaired. The other could be sold on ebay etc as spares or repairs. Or - if the light leak is due to the light seals, then try swopping backs; it all depends, of course...

The 35RC has a lot going for it, especially the lens, and little against it. Although some see the need for Wein cells as a disadvantage but I don't. Anyway, good luck with the decision.

Thanks, David and wallace. I think I will give the om-doktor a call, even though €55 - or thereabout - is what I paid for the camera in the first place.

These are from the good lens one. I haven't checked to see what the other one gives, yet.

Even with the 40mm lens; if you are careful you can do reasonable portraits.
