olympus 35 sp tested

so here I am,
after I adjusted the rf to get best sharpness I tested the small nice rf camera

at f1,7 it's a smooth operator,
but if you close under f 2,8 it works quite good

again f1,7

f 8 and not the best light :-(

well, that's difficult to say,
I think the lense of the lynx 14 is over all much better,
that means higher resolution and better contrast,
better sharpness and even at f 1,4 to use.

But the the lynx is not that small!

If you want a easy to use and light weight travell camera,
the olympus is ok,
choose f stop over 2,8 and your photos will be satisfying.

The oly is a littel bit a compromise between programm automatic and manuall metering.
This you don't have with a yashica electro 35 wich is also a real opportunity, but only automatic exposin in A mode.
The sp is more modern, and the adjusting of the rf is solved better.
You should know there is one decade developing in between.

The lynx has only manuall exposing and you have to belive the ancient meter 🙂
so in the end you'll take a separate exposure meter.

I'll test the olympus again in better light situations and one time with a colornegativ film.

My 35 SP was stolen out of my car about a year ago and I am constantly thinking of replacing it. Problem is I bought it used for $10 at a thrift store and the cost to replace it on eBay or RFF is much more.

I love the last picture, BTW. What film?
