Olympus E-P2 Macro Photos

Seems like it. :p

edit - gotta get Jim to post some photos too! Then we will have a dc, md, and va trio!

Alright alright alright...

I don't usually do macros, but I'll call your bee and raise you a notebook.

Happy to have been of some assistance. Let us know what you end up with!

Just got a a Canon FD 50mm f/3.5 in the mail! I really had no idea which legacy macro to get but since I shoot Canon dslr I figured I'd try a Canon. Here's a quick shot I took just to make sure it works on the E-P1. Not sure what is happening but the liveview doesn't always turn on with the macro lens on, I'll have to figure out why that is. But I'm very happy having spent *a lot* less than I would have for the Panny macro. Pardon the noise, I was rushing to shoot this quickly because it's so late and I overlooked (among other things) that the ISO was set at 2000. :bang: I need to stop shooting on the bedside table while in bed and half awake, lol.

holy sh*t those are nice shots in the original OP. I love the TAKUMAR look, that 50/1.4 lens has been on my list when I finally get around to getting a ff digital rig.

Thanks!

+1 on the Tak, by the way. I am currently trying to get rid of camera systems, but I might someday find myself back in the M42 game.

I love my takumar lenses. The quality of the glass is great and the focusing is sooooo smooth and nicely damped. They are the best feeling lenses I have ever used, by far.

Thanks! :D

Why wait for ff digital? You can pick up spotmatic bodies for next to nothing these days. I picked up a cla-ed SPII for $80 about a year ago.

My extension tubes for the M-mount lenses came in today. This was taken with the smallest #1 tube. I can't image what it would be like with all three tubes mounted on the camera/lens. I'll have time this weekend to play around with the sonnar and macro tubes and hopefully post something more interesting :)

This was a quick test, handheld around f5.6 with desk lamp for illumination. E-P2, Canon Sonnar 1.5/50, macro extension tube #1.

And a screen shot off my iPhone during a file transfer. Again hand held, available light, Oly E-P2, Canon Sonnar, #1 tube. Not sure of aperture.

Nice test shots. :)

Yeah, not terribly sure what I will take photos of with stacked extension tubes. But $35 for a mint listing convinced me to just give it a go.

Stacking them would get me so absurdly close and with such small depth of field that I am certain I would need (1) a geared tripod head and (2) macro rails in order to have any control over the photo.

Where did you find m-mount extension tubes? Looking forward to seeing more of your extension tube photos.

I found them on eBay, and they shipped out of Hong Kong. They are made out of aluminum and not high quality, but the price was right (about $38). I do think the #1 will be the most usable, and possibly the #2. Not sure about #3, or having them stacked, but I will give it a try. I have a focusing rail in the studio that I haven't used in years.

My biggest problem will be finding subject matter thats interesting enough visually at such high magnification.

Here is a link to the extension tubes I purchased;

Thanks for the link.

I'm probably going to pick up a focusing rail soon. Just need to sell this D70 and the nikon tube set first. ;)

If I stacked all the tubes, I'd be mainly taking photos of abstract stuff I think. Patterns and the like.
