I have a Zuiko 55mm F1.2 lens with the engraved front ring of the lens saying M-SYSTE rather than M-SYSTEM (the final letter is missing).

Has anyone else seen a Zuiko lens with this sort of mistake in the manufacture.

Is the engraving actually missing the "M" or is it just the white that has come out of the engraving? If engraving is bad, I have never seen that before. John

You have a genuine Olympus M-system lens from 1973. The lens usually sells for 700 USD. Yours might get 900 USD. Search more on the Olympus M-system to get a better idea.

I have seen only one lens with the missing (m) like you have once. eBay seller Jiri_e sold a lens with the missing (m), but I do not remember the lens focal length.

The lens engraving for the "M" is missing totally not just the paint missing.
I purchased the lens from eBay seller Jiri_e in may 2012.
