Olympus OM-1N Mirror Lock Up ??

Just got this nice Olympus OM-1N
Everything seems to be working except the mirror lock up.
Looks like someone replaced the mirror lock up lever with this crank.
The crank does not lock up the mirror.
Any suggestions to get the mirror lock up working?

It appears that the crank has simply been screwed onto the mirror lockup dial (for lack of a better description) for ease of use. It is quite a nice mod for someone using the mirror lockup frequently. You could simply unscrew the crank and see how the underlying dial is working. It looks loose from this angle.

I unscrewed the crank and tried moving the lock up lever. The lever moves, but the mirror doesn't.
Is there a way to fix it?

My OM1n has a similar problem, mirror only lifts about half way. That crank handle is a pretty tidy little mod though. Doesn't look too out of place.
